Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Luke 17:1 KJV
Shabbat shalom dearly beloved:
Whenever we search for the root of any STRIFE and conflict we will find an offence. This is the reason for all Church splits, divorces, hatred and wars. That is the reason why Elohim warned us not to be immoral like Esau that functioned out of a Root of Bitterness caused by an offence.
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. Hebrews 12:15,16
We can see here that Esau was offended with Jacob, maybe because the mother favored Jacob as she knew that he was destined to be the First Born.
Now Isaac loved Esau, because he had a taste for game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Genesis 25:28
You know how boys are jealous about their mother’s affection. They are willing to kill for it! This offense is affecting the House of Esau to this day and it manifests through a portion of the Arab people that are descendants of Esau. Esau is still offended with Jacob (Israel) and would like to see him dead!
Another very well known murderer is Cain. He killed his brother Abel because of the offence of JEALOUSY:
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. Genesis 4:4,5 KJV
YHVH noticed that he was offended and warned him to get “unoffended” but Cain refused and instead he rose up to murder Abel whom he hated because of JEALOUSY!
Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? "If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Genesis 4:6-8 NAS
Offences are DEATHLY!
Another known offence and jealousy is Hagar’s offence towards Sarah and the jealousy of Ishmael toward Jacob.
He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from and where are you going?" And she said, "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai." Then the angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority." Genesis 16:8,9
When she bore Ishmael, Abraham thought that the Covenant Promise would go through Ishmael but YHVH said NO. It will go through Isaac. This has caused so great an offence in the Sons of Ishmael that in their jealousy they have sought to rewrite history and Bible. In Islam the foundational tenet is Replacement Theology. In other words the Chosen Son is Ishmael and not Isaac. All this is born out of the jealousy of an offended Ishmael!
And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!" But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. Genesis 17:18-19
This of course was a terrible source of jealousy between Ishmael and Isaac. This source of jealousy from the Sons of Ishmael (Arabs) has been very destructive and it is the ROOT of the present day war with Hamas.
It does not matter how much you try to give to an offended party, offences will never leave because of concessions. Elohim promised MUCH to Ishmael and YET he was not happy with it. That is why the more land we give to the so called “Palestinian Cause” the more they want. They want to REPLACE Israel altogether! They are blessed with so much land, so much oil, so much everything, but NO they want the tiny piece that we have!
As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. Genesis 17:20
This was not enough for Ishmael, he wanted Jacob’s portion! And he still does! Not only him but all the sons of Abraham that he bore to his concubines. They are all “the evil neighbors” that desire the full destruction of Israel and all that because of jealousy! (Assyria, Syria, Iraq, Iran etc..)
Now Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac; but to the sons of his concubines, Abraham gave gifts while he was still living, and sent them away from his son Isaac eastward, to the land of the east. Genesis 25:5,6
When you read Psalms 83 you can see a confederacy of nations that are so offended with Israel and hate her so much that they want the name of Israel to be remembered NO MORE!
They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more." For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Psalms 83:4-8
All these are the brothers of Isaac and Jacob-Israel. They are offended and they are jealous because Isaac is the Chosen One forever. Out of offences have come Islam and Babylonian Christianity. Both carry a Replacement Theology that has been deathly!
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a citadel. Proverbs 18:19
Throughout history we can see that the worst massacres against Jews were an outcome of offendedness and jealousy. Constantine established the Christian Religion on the basis of the Council of Nicea, that shows that he was offended with and jealous of the Jews!
“We should separate ourselves from the detestable company of the Jews” He said “For the Savior has showed us another way”. This gave free reign for anti-Semitism to murder countless of Jews in the name of Christ. (For the full document click on www.kad-esh.org)
Martin Luther was another “offended brother”. He got offended with the Jews that refused his evangelistic efforts. He wrote a very anti Semitic book called “Against the Jews and their Lies”, with the final solution that Hitler quoted in his book Mein Campf and followed by exterminating 6 million Jews. All easily offended and jealous people are dangerous. If you have that tendency-REPENT as it is deathly! If you have jealous people in your close vicinity and they refuse to repent, it is better to separate from them. Jealousy is a demonic stronghold!
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. James 3:13,14
The source of jealousy and offenses is the devil himself! Y’shua admonished us against this very clearly.
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Luke 17:1-3,4 KJV
Bitter jealousy and offences are the source of ALL strife and when they are present in any situation there is EVERY EVIL THING! This is the reason behind ALL wars, divisions and murder!
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. James 3:16
I pray that we will all be totally clean from offences and jealousy in our lives, families, business and ministries. As we do that, let us wage a good spiritual warfare against the source of The Middle East conflict as politicians call it. Let us pray against the ROOT and the SOURCE of this conflict- “The JEALOUSY of ISHMAEL and ESAU against ISRAEL!” That is the foundation of Islam. May this hateful foundation be removed altogether so that His Kingdom and Holy Covenant can be established on the earth. The only hope is for the Arabs is to accept Messiah, and because of Him to love Israel and honor Israel as the Chosen Son. Until that happens, there shall be war.
Thus says the LORD concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, "Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. "And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. "Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, 'As the LORD lives,' even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. "But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it," declares the YHVH. Jeremiah 12:14-17
