REVIVAL CRY #37 Dead flies make a perfumer's oil stink, so a little foolishness is weightier than wisdom and honor. Ecclesiastes 10:1 Shabbat Shalom dearly beloved: On the 1st day of the Month of Abib, the FIRST month in the Hebrew Calendar we celebrate the original Biblical New Year. This year it starts on Wednesday the 26th of March at sun set. Now YHVH said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, "This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you” Exodus 12:1-2 The whole Holy Feast and Agricultural Cycle starts this first month and with it a total renewal of our walk with Yah. The name for the Holy Feasts is REGALIM from the word REGEL in Hebrew which means LEG or LEGS because these are pilgrim feasts. In other words all males in Israel together with their wives and families were commanded to come up to Jerusalem to celebrate them in the Presence of YHVH in His Holy Temple. Three times in a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. Deuteronomy 16:16 In the same way that the REGALIM represent a walk of ascension up to Jerusalem so the Feast Cycle marks our walk as believers in the Brit Chadasha (Renewed Covenant). The Rosh Chodesh (New Moon) of the First Month, the month of Abib (also called Nisan by the Jews that returned from the Babylonian Exile in the 6th century BCE) is the official NEW YEAR and a real time to rededicate ourselves, our walk and to start a new CYCLE. It is so wonderful to know that Elohim is a God of New Beginnings! We all need new beginnings and the opportunity to repent and start a fresh a new cycle of sowing and reaping. This is the time when the farmers enjoy the spring rains and the spring sowing of new crops. REMOVING THE DEAD FLIES! The most important thing to do at a time of New Beginnings is to *remove the dead flies; let go of all that spoils our WALK with the Holy Spirit like bad attitudes, pride, self pity, offences, roots of bitterness, critical attitudes, neglect and procrastinations, unbelief, pouting, murmuring, disobedience, any traces of Replacement Theology and all rebellion! Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Yeshua, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim. Hebrews 12:1 It is time to learn from the past, repent for what was wrong, forgive and receive forgiveness and project ourselves to do right. It is no mistake that on the 14th of Abib, we start the Passover celebrations and that the whole Feast Cycle starts with the absolute Grace of the Blood Covenant, setting us free to start a new life in the promise land of righteousness, holiness and blessing. As we enter into this New Year in repentance, forgiveness and joy we will go through the next two weeks of preparation for Passover* making sure that our physical houses are clean and most important our hearts, lives and relationships, starting with our relationship with ABBA Himself. Then we will be able to sit at the Passover Seder Table fully ready to renew our Covenant with Yeshua remembering the TWO great deliverances, the one of all of our people Israel from slavery in Egypt and the other one that is so personal and unique to each one of us, from slavery to sin. This year the Passover Seder is on the eve of the 8th of April for seven days, with a Feast Shabbat and holy convocation the first and the last day. Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to YHVH your Elohim, for in the month of Abib YHVH your Elohim brought you out of Egypt by night. Deuteronomy 16:1 I love this season in Israel! Everyone is busy cleaning, repairing, renewing their homes, their wardrobes and the streets are being repaired. In Eilat they are at the moment replacing the old water pipes and a whole lot of massive plumbing is taking place! Let us learn from the natural to the spiritual and replace our old “plumbing” too, so we can be a clean pipeline for the Holy Spirit in the new-year that has come; a new vessel through which the perfume of His Presence can flow with no dead flies in it! Take a moment to say Thank You to Yah for the past year, to repent, to forgive, to rededicate your life and your walk and to ask for guidance and strategy from the Holy Spirit. Time is so very late and Yeshua seems to be closer to His return than ever. He is totally dedicated to the restoration of Israel and I hope that you are too! For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep quiet, until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, and her salvation like a torch that is burning. Twice a week we host the pastor’s meeting for Revival in the City, Shabbat meetings and a host of other activities! Our participants of Purim 4000 were all blessed to come up to hear the vision, enjoy the awesome view of Eilat, the Red Sea and even Jordan, the mountains of Edom and the Desert of Israel! We have a lot to be thankful for. As we close this year in Eilat, we close it with many signs of hope for a coming revival in Israel. As my Love Song to Eilat is playing in the radio, I know that we have to go ahead and tape many more Hebrew songs that Yah has already given me that will touch the heart of the Israelis and awake them to Messiah! The strategy of the Father for this generation of Israelis is to let Him father His children through Worship! Your prayers and finances enable us to keep on recording more songs, printing more books and material, record TV programs, write more teaching letters, pay rent, feed the team, host leaders meetings, disciple and live as a LIGHTHOUSE for the Kingdom in Israel!
