THE EILAT REPORT JUNE 2009 And the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad (Spain) Will possess the cities of the Negev (South). Obadiah 20b Shabbat shalom dearly beloved: Much has happened in Eilat since our last Eilat Report issue. Many people from different nations have come and gone from the WLT (Worship Living Tower), Israelis have received salvation and the needy are being helped. We have entered into the very hot season of the Israeli summer with temperature going above 40 degrees Celsius! Many Israelis are coming here for the holidays; which allows us to minister the Gospel to people from all over the country! EILAT, THE CITY OF NATIONAL OUTREACH How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:14 The other day I went to the beach, to enjoy some relaxing time and swimming. Little did I know that this was going to be turned into an outreach to Tel Aviv all the way from Eilat! (For those who have partnered with us for many years, you may remember that we used to pastor in Tel Aviv from 1998-2003). There is much in common between Eilat and Tel Aviv, namely the “party spirit”, the “liberality” and the beach. Tel Avivians find Eilat very attractive as their holiday resort of choice. Both Eilat and Tel Aviv have been major hosts of the Gay Movement and the Pride Parades. I was really “minding my own business” reading a book in Hebrew written by Sid Roth that contains the testimonies of many Jews and Israelis that have accepted Messiah Y’shua. I went to swim and when I came back, somehow many people had decided to camp under the same umbrella I was, making the space very crammed and uncomfortable for me! To make matters worse, there were three young Israelis and one was smoking. I asked him to stop smoking or to move somewhere else. One of the more mature men under the same umbrella (from another group) invited them to come close to him as he did not mind the smoking. On top of it he began “joking” about cigarettes not being so bad and actually being “good for you”. Obviously he was intending to mock me. I quickly retorted that his jokes are not funny as he was calling what is bad-good. He said I am only joking and I said that is no joke and it’s not funny! I actually seriously rebuked him and then there was quiet. Silently I prayed for Yah to turn all this situation around! Around one hour later I had a phone call from a lady from a health food store in Tel Aviv, a lawyer by profession where we did some shopping a few days ago. I left her my book that is my testimony of salvation, my Hebrew “YES”, and asked her to give me a feedback after reading it. She just called me to tell me how very moved she was about the book and how it described her own journey, etc..Then I began to quote scripture to her about Y’shua being the ONLY way! She was very touched and agreed to start reading the New Testament, which we will send her, and to stay in touch! Unbeknown to me, the crowd of men under my umbrella was listening intently to this conversation. I had not even noticed that all my words could be heard by them, since they were so close to me. The man that had “joked” about the cigarettes, the one I had sharply rebuked, turned to me and said to my surprise: “I am very interested in what you were talking about, I see that you speak Words of Torah and Truth, can you tell me more?” I proceeded to give him Sid Roth’s book of testimonies and said: “Here, read it for yourself and after you are done, give me a call and I will answer your questions” The friend sitting next to him, a man of about 50 showed interest too and compelled me to tell them my story.-Which I proceeded to tell in general terms, enough to give him more hunger and thirst. I gave him a card with the website where he could find the full story! He promised to read both the book I gave to his friend and my story. Another one of their Israeli friends began to mock and said “The Messiah does not exist, it’s an invention of the religious”. How can you believe in Heaven and Hell if the Tanach (Hebrew Scriptures) does not talk about it, he retorted. “The Tanach does speak about it I said” “ in the Book of Daniel 12:2 where it says: “Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.” “The question is where each one of us will spend eternity?” I told him matter of fact. The man immediately snatched the book out of the hands of the friend I gave it to and started reading it with urgency! These men were all from Tel Aviv, in their 50’s and from a high socio-economic background. Their hunger and openness was extraordinary which means that the secular Israelis are empty and searching for answers…What touched me the most is that right here from Eilat on the Red Sea, the Southern Gate of Israel, also called “the end of the world” by many Israelis we can reach out to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and the whole country! They all arrive to Eilat to “unwind” and are relaxed enough to listen to what we have to say! A LOVE SONG TO EILAT He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. Psalms 40:3 Most of you remember the “Love Song to Eilat” that Yah gave me to commemorate the 60th Year Anniversary of the City in March this year. Not long ago I was interviewed by a major magazine here about the new song. Later on, a full page coverage came out quoting my “mission” to teach people to love the Land and the God of the Land. It quoted my prophetic phrase that I have declared since arriving to the city in December of 2007: “I love Eilat and Eilat loves me!” this magazine is distributed free of charge to all the citizens so many have read the article and saw my picture on the cover. One little girl from the local Russian Messianic Congregation was all excited and said: “I saw you in the magazine!” My hairdresser was extra nice and respectful as he also had seen me in the magazine. To honor me he played my song in his salon for all to hear! The local radio is periodically playing the song. It just goes to show how important it is to maintain the LWT (Living Worship Tower) and to raise a Worship Center in the city. Israelis respond very warmly to any outreach through MUSIC! Please pray for more of my songs to be played in the radio! HELP US PUT THE GOSPEL ON ISRAELI RADIO! We are ready to tape an entire music CD as an outreach through song to the Hebrew speakers. Because my Eilat song is in the radio, we have much favor and will by Yah’s grace be able to broadcast all the songs in the radio as soon as they are taped. Songs include prayers for “The Light of the World to come into my heart” and The Lord’s Prayer in Hebrew. We have an unprecedented open door of favor to preach the Gospel through music on Israeli radio! We need a minimum of $6000 USD to complete the CD. Every song costs a minimum of $520 to tape, please pray about “adopting a song” click here OUTREACH TO THE NEEDY Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27 It came to our attention that there are many hungry children in the city and many families in great need. Eilat has more single moms than any other city in Israel. Many people arrive here after they are divorced, totally broken, seeking a fresh start. The municipality is not catering enough to these, and the food outreaches from concerned individuals is not catering enough to the need either. On the other hand, the growing religious orthodox population of the city, extends a conditional helping hand and exercises terrible pressure on the people it helps to convert to religious Judaism. We have heard some very disturbing stories that totally violate the privacy of these needy women by inspecting their homes and controlling their lives. One such a lady, a widow, a mother of two and a new worshipper of Messiah Y’shua arrived to the Tower to seek help. At present through prayer and practical help she is being restored and being taught in the ways of Yah and is being set free. Please pray for Sara! COMPASSION TO EILAT And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday. Isaiah 58:10 This has triggered in us a great desire to fill the vacuum and to stretch a helping hand of compassion to the needy in the city. Together with other local believers, we would like to start an outreach of compassion into the city. This outreach ministry will offer both practical and spiritual help to the many needs, including, food, clothing, encouragement to find jobs, prayer for Divine healing, deliverance and the like. Our “customers” will be single parent families, families with many children, New Immigrants (Olim Chadashim), single pregnant women, the elderly, terminally ill people and the addicts. We believe that this will be a major KEY for the Revival of the City! Then your light will break out like the dawn, and your recovery will speedily spring forth; and your righteousness will go before you; the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8 For us to be able to move into the community we must have some financial back up so we can rent (better buy!) a building from which to conduct this Compassion Ministry and of course outfit it with all needed equipment. We are calculating to start with an expense of an extra $7000-$10.000 USD a month which includes rental, furnishing, utilities (electric, water) and supplies and basic wages to support the volunteers. This Outreach Center can run a “soup kitchen”, food and clothing distribution, library of books and DVD’s, counseling and healing rooms, shelter room for urgent cases and a worship hall. Those that have accompanied us for many years know that we have pioneered in the past both a shelter for addicts called “Beit Yeshua” as well as an outreach to needy in conjunction with the Joseph Project of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America. This was in South Tel Aviv, in the “Red Light District” of Israel. We feel that the Lord is calling us to open our hearts again to such an outreach, this time in Eilat. We ask you to please pray for us and especially for this project. All prayer and financial help is WELCOME! If you would like to invest in purchasing a building for the ministry please let us know. The local Messianic Russian Pastor told us of a congregation in Russia that would help us build such a place at no cost if we can get the land and the materials! This by far would be the best situation and an antidote against all future resistance or persecution! Meanwhile we are willing to start with rental. And YHVH will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places (Eilat is in the desert!), and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11 We believe that if you partner with us to both support our team in Eilat and to reach out to the local needy community here, Yah will bless you mightily! And together we will see REVIVAL in this city! Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; and you will be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in which to dwell. Isaiah 58:12 I have written in past issues, how Y’shua appeared to me during the Second War with Lebanon in August 2006 when we were in the Golan Heights inside of a cloud on a prayer mission. He was standing and “feverishly” mobilizing His troops of both Angelic Host and His People for the End Time Battle for the Restoration of Israel.
