In Memorial to the Reunification of Jerusalem and
the Miracle Six Day War

Shabbat shalom and a blessed Shavuot dearly beloved!

This past week we have been celebrating Jerusalem’s Day In Memorial of the Reunification of Jerusalem and the Miracle Six Day War. Also from Sunday the 8th of June to the 10th, we will be celebrating Shavuot (Pentecost). This very special Year of Shabbat is both the 41st Anniversary of the Six Day War and the Holy Feast of Shavuot converge. Since Yah is a God of Perfect Timings, this is no coincidence. What is the connection between Shavuot (Pentecost) and the Six Day War? (This miraculous war brought about the reunification of Jerusalem and the addition of large portions of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan Heights) Is there any connection between the fulfillment of YHVH’s Promises to Israel and the End Time Revival? Is Jerusalem and its future important to Christians worldwide?

 I suggest here that the true End Time Revival has Israel at the Center of Focus and attention.

“For if their (the Jews) rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead”  Romans 11:15

In fact I believe that Y’shua is eagerly working towards the restoration of Israel and that includes a New Pentecost in Israel! A new” Shavuot – type” Outpouring of the Holy Spirit in His Promised Land and upon His Jewish People! Jerusalem is the very heart of the Jewish Nation. It is the eternal Capital of Israel. For 2000 years all Jews yearned and longed for Jerusalem. “Leshana Habaa BeYerushalayim” (Next year in Jerusalem) was the constant prayer of all Jews every Passover.

Only after we realize that Adonai gave Jerusalem back to Israel literally on a Silver Platter, we will understand how serious it is to divide the Holy City again! To start with, the Six Day War of June 1967 was a sign and a wonder. There is no way such a small army as the Israeli army was could win the war against all the Arab nations with big armies, BUT ELOHIM DID IT through the IDF!

Prior to the Six Day War, Egypt had threatened and in fact closed the straits of Tiran thus closing the passage to the Eilat Harbor and the Gulf of Aqaba. Cutting Israel’s Marine passage would leave her isolated by sea; severely affect trading, economy and security. Israel did not want to fight and she begged President Johnson of the USA to help keep the straits open but the USA refused to help which left Israel alone to fend for herself in the case of an all Egyptian attack from the South.

Israeli Foreign Minister Abba Eban was sent to the US on May 25th. His missions were to get from the United States some guarantee against an Egyptian attack and some firm action to break the blockade of the straits of Tiran.  Prime Minister Levi Eshkol needed these in order to fight pressure to launch an immediate attack.

Eban got nothing. He was turned down by Secretary of State Dean Rusk  He was turned down by Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, and he was turned down, essentially by President Johnson. The US could not commit itself to the defense of Israel, for constitutional reasons, according to the administration. The US could not establish any intelligence or military liaison with Israel. The US could not open the straits of Tiran alone without first attempting to do so through a multinational force or the UN. Israel must not attack the Arabs. These messages were contained in a written statement that President Johnson handed Eban at their meeting on May 26.

Since Israel found herself alone in the face of serious threats, she proceeded to respond to Egypt’s belligerence.  She did not start but she responded. The response was so swift that as the Six Day War started on the 5th of June 1967 in only a few minutes the entire Egyptian air force was destroyed while still on the ground! Not one single Egyptian plane could take off!

It is clear from declassified documents that the US was interested in restraining Israel solely because it was concerned for its own interests in the Middle East.  She was and fearful of economic repercussions, and that the US would be unable, in the end, to actually open the straits of Tiran, owing to Arab objections. A memorandum from Dean Rusk to President Johnson on May 26, preparatory to Johnson's meeting with Abba Eban states:

You have two basic options now:
(1) To let the Israelis decide how best to protect their own national interests, in the light of the advice we have given them: i.e., to "unleash" them. We recommend strongly against this option.
(2) To take a positive position, but not a final commitment, on the British proposal. The British Cabinet meets on the plan tomorrow.

We recommend this policy, as our best hope of preventing a war which could gravely damage many American national interests.

Unfortunately the same policy of caring for its own “oil interests” and her relationship with the oil producing Arab Nations such as Saudi Arabia is leading the USA now. Present USA President Mr. George W. Bush has pushed Israel to the verge of national suicide by forcing her to establish a Palestinian State inside of Israel. This means relinquishing all the Land that was gained in the miraculous Six Day War!

We need to realize that Israel was alone during the Six Day War.  She was alone physically yet not spiritually, for in Six Days from the 5th of June to the 11th of June she had more than doubled her territory adding to herself precious Biblical Land. Biblical Land such as Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights, all the Sinai, Gaza and most important: East Jerusalem which included the Kotel (Western Wall, Temple Mount) and the Jewish Quarter. The Jewish Quarter that had suffered a massacre by the Jordanians of all its Jewish inhabitants was once again in Jewish hands since the independence War of 1948.

After the amazing success against Egypt which would achieve the opening of the straits of Tiran and the Southern Marine border with Eilat, Israel would have quit. However the Almighty had a bigger plan: His plan was to advance the fulfillment of His Land Covenant Promise to Israel and restore to her ALL the Land promised to Abraham-Isaac and Jacob and Most Important: Jerusalem!

And it came to pass, when the sun went down and it was dark, that behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a burning torch that passed between those pieces. On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying:

“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates. Genesis 15:17,18 also see Joshua 1:7,8

The restoration of all that Holy Land to Jewish Sovereignty happened because Jordan decided to attack Israel at the same time that Israel was fighting in the Southern border with Egypt, thus weakening her. We must realize that Israel had NO support from the USA or from anyone else! Logic said that if she would be attacked from all flanks she did not stand the slightest chance of survival. So Jordan attacked the heart and center of Israel up to Tel Aviv and on the Northern border Syria, that was positioned in the Golan Heights, attacked the Galilee. So now Israel was attacked everywhere! In other words she was at the border of total annihilation with absolutely no help from the nations and only 19 years after its inception and 23 years after the end of the Shoa (Holocaust).

At the time, it was believed that the Arab states had a decisive superiority in the number and quality of weapons, and a potential superiority in manpower, if all reserves were fielded. Prior to 1967, Israel had gotten almost no military aid from the United States. Egypt and Syria were equipped with large quantities of the latest Soviet military equipment. Israel's main arms supplier was France

How could this bunch of survivor Jews fend off such an attack from so many fully armed, blood thirsty Arab Nations with no support? How could this bunch of defenseless Jews win a war like that?

The only answer is GOD, Elohim, YHVH Himself fought with Israel during the Six Day War! There were numerous testimonies of Angelic Visitations and Miracles!

      YHVH shall go forth like a mighty man;
      He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
      He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
      He shall prevail against His enemies Isaiah 42:13

Today 41 years after the Six Day War, going back to the pre war borders is totally insane. On top of it another factor has been created: a terror state named Palestine that is totally armed and activated by the Arab nations around including Syria and Iran that are completely committed to annihilate Israel and raze her off the map. Israel is being pressurized to:
1) Relinquish East Jerusalem (including Temple Mount and Garden Tomb) 2) Relinquish the strategic Golan Heights and leave Israel’s Northern Border at the mercy of the Syrians. 3) Remove a large portion of the settlements in Samaria and “remove” over 100.000 Jewish settlers.

It does not take too much education to understand that this plan is totally insane! That relinquishing the Land that God Himself gave us in order to appease the USA, and the nations who want to appease Saudi Arabia and the Oil Producers, is a plan made in hell! That the establishing of a Palestinian State is a Trojan Horse ready to destroy Israel. That our PM, Ehud Olmert is being prosecuted for past financial crimes exactly now when this hideous plan is about to happen. That God Himself is indignant about this plan and that all the nations that are pushing Israel to the verge of national suicide have entered into the Valley of judgment and a lot more STORMS and Global Warming, Seismic activities and earthquakes can be expected!

“O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.  For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, and those who hate You have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Your people, and conspire together against Your treasured ones. They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.". “So pursue them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your storm.” Psalms 83:1-4,15

If  there is anything that we should do at this time; It is to cry out:

“In judgment remember mercy”

   Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all things that come forth from it. For the indignation of the LORD is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter. For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion.   Isaiah 34:1,2,8

True revival that causes Heaven’s intervention demands REPENTANCE! We need to wake up to cry out for Yah’s intervention on behalf of Israel. (Psalms 102:13-17)

There is one thing that the Body of Messiah world -wide cannot afford right now: To be self centered and ignore the fierce battle that Israel is involved in. To think that revival breakouts throughout the world are disconnected from the main purpose of God’s plan which is to restore Israel and prepare her for His return to rule and reign from Jerusalem for 1000 years! The restoration of Israel involves:

"It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.”  Zechariah 12:3

Jerusalem is on the verge of being divided because the heart of Israel is divided. The Jewish Israeli people are tired of war and isolation and they want peace at all costs! The only hope is for an all encompassing outpouring of the Holy Spirit, signs, wonders and miracles that will restore the heart of Israel to wholeness. This is exactly what Y’shua wants to do: He wants to pour out His spirit on all flesh.  The time of Israel has come to experience a 21st Century Pentecost like at the time of the 1st Century: The 21st like the 1st! Many years ago I prophesied such a healing revival in Israel and we are at the verge of its breaking out. We must pray for Clean Water and for the Spirit of grace and supplication to be poured out all over the Land!

"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. "You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.”  Ezekiel 36:25-28

Israel needs a New Heart, revival is knocking at the door and you and I are called to be partners with Y’shua in the revival of Israel! “For thus says the LORD,  "Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise and say, 'O YHVH, save Your people, the remnant of Israel.'  Jeremiah 31:7

An all encompassing revival that will touch the Jewish People, the Israeli government and the Palestinians themselves is the only suitable answer and the only possible intervention that can cause the plans of modern day Amalek to be overturned!

"And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. "I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.” Zechariah 12:9-10

Shavuot (or Shavuos, in Ashkenazi usage; Hebrew: שבועות , lit. "Weeks") is a Jewish holiday that occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan (late May or early June). It marks the conclusion of the Counting of the Omer and the day the Torah was given to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai. It is one of the shalosh regalim, the three Biblical pilgrimage festivals.

The date of Shavuot is directly linked to that of Passover. The Torah mandates the seven-week Counting of the Omer, beginning on the second day of Passover and immediately followed by Shavuot. This counting of days and weeks is understood to express anticipation and desire for the Giving of the Torah. On Passover, the Jewish people were freed from their enslavement to Pharaoh; on Shavuot they accepted the Torah and became a nation committed to serving God.

In the Bible, Shavuot is called the Festival of Weeks (Hebrew: חג השבועות , Hag ha-Shavuot, Exodus 34:22, Deuteronomy 16:10); Festival of Reaping (Hebrew: חג הקציר , Hag ha-Katsir, Exodus 23:16), and Day of the First Fruits (Hebrew יום הבכורים , Yom ha-Bikkurim, Numbers 28:26). The Mishnah and Talmud refer to Shavuot as Atzeret (Hebrew: עצרת , a solemn assembly), as it provides closure for the festival activities during and following the holiday of Passover. Since Shavuot occurs 50 days after Passover, Christians gave it the name Pentecost (πεντηκόστη, "fiftieth day"). (Wikepedia)  Also see Leviticus 23:15-22

It is exactly on Shavuot that the Holy Spirit fell on the Messianic Jewish Congregation in Jerusalem 2000 years ago, thus igniting a great revival in Israel with thrusting of the Gospel with signs and miracles following to the whole world! (Acts 2)

A Holiday Commandment is to bring the First Fruit offerings unto God and a tradition is to eat milk products with seven species of fruit of Israel representing the promise that Israel is a Land flowing with milk and honey and to read the Story of Ruth that takes place during the Shavuot season.(Deuteronomy 8:8, Ruth 2:23)
