'On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.” Leviticus 23:39 Shabbat shalom dearly beloved: Sukkoth is the only 8 day feast in the Biblical calendar. The Scriptures do not explain why it is considered a seven day feast and yet with a prescribed REST (like Shabbat) on the 8th day as well as on the 1st! The Word here tells us that we should celebrate for SEVEN days and YET have a complete rest (like Shabbat) on the 8th day. How come? On the FIRST day Y’shua is born and on the 8th day He enters into the Covenant of Abraham by circumcision! Though most of Israel does not know why, this eighth day has turned into the celebration of SIMCHAT TORAH which means REJOICING OVER THE TORAH. The Torah is paraded throughout the streets like a bridegroom and everyone kisses it and rejoices over it! This is also the beginning of the new yearly cycle for the reading of the Torah, on the following Shabbat we start with Parashat BERESHIT, (Torah portion of Genesis 1). "And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, a servant who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.” Genesis 17:12 The whole celebration of SIMCHAT TORAH feels like a wedding celebration or a Brit Mila (Covenant of circumcision celebration). In Jeremiah 31:31-34, we learn that in the New Covenant, those circumcised of heart have the Torah, (Yah’s laws and commandments,) written in the heart and mind by the Holy Spirit. We rejoice with all of Israel with the written Torah, and we rejoice with the whole world about the Torah made flesh, the Jewish Messiah who dwelt among us and is now ready to return! Are we ready for Him? “Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the LORD. "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." Jeremiah 31:31-34 It is time to start a fresh new chapter in all our lives, read, meditate, and listen to His Torah by His Holy Spirit and obey His every word with JOY! Let us REJOICE in the Torah, the Wisdom of Yah manifested both in writing and in the flesh through Y’shua! May we all choose GREATNESS as Y’shua admonished us: "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-20 A new chapter, a new beginning, a new reading and doing of the Torah, a new thrust in our lives, choosing FAITH and OBEDIENCE by the Anointing of the Holy Spirit! Then Revival, the Blessing and RESTORATION! "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Yeshua the Messiah appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which (God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.” Acts 3:19-21 We are in Jerusalem for the Feast, exhibiting in the International Convention Center, and it has begun to RAIN, which is the sign of refreshing and blessing, after the long summer and the previous drought. Please pray for REVIVAL and BLESSING in Israel and reap REVIVAL and BLESSING in your nations! The Word of God tells us that all nations are commanded to come up to Jerusalem during the Feast of Tabernacles (Zechariah 14:16). Those nations that do not come will have no rain. I believe that this affects the spiritual and physical realms. If there is no rain, there is no food. During these times of financial turmoil, it is much better to put our trust in Yah’s plan for prosperity. Coming to Jerusalem and blessing Israel is a sure way to do so.
