WOMANOPHOBIA # 5

Wives Submit to Your Husbands. Ephesians 5:22
Womanophobia is a coined word that describes the following:
The irrational fear of letting a woman have a position of leadership, especially in the Church.

It is comprised of two words:
1.  WOMAN i.e. a human of Female Gender created in the Image and likeness of Elohim, the Creator! So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
2.  PHOBIA is an intense, irrational, unrealistic fear, which can interfere with the ability to socialize, work, or go about everyday life that is brought on by an object, event or situation and is regarded as a mental disorder.

For example if someone is bit by a dog, may develop a fear against all dogs. Such person would never come close to a canine, purchase one or enjoy its wonderful company- he has developed an irrational fear that will prevent him from enjoying one.

A Phobia comes accompanied by a spirit of fear. The Scriptures tell us that God has not given us a spirit of fear.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

We believe that when people have strong reactions of rejection against women in ministry it is irrational, unrealistic and it paralyzes the Body of Y’shua so it cannot function properly. By the end of these series of teachings, you will know why it is imperative that we get rid of Womanophobia once and for all as it is OBSTRUCTING revival and the Move of the Spirit. On the first part of this Urgent Message Rabbi Baruch Bierman shared his testimony as an ex-persecutor of women in leadership. In each one of the chapters following he will take you through the Scriptures from the original Greek language and your eyes will be opened to the Truth. That BOTH male and female are created in the Image of Elohim, the Creator and BOTH are called to be fruitful, to multiply and to RULE in this earth. Both men and women are called to be priests and kings unto our God! The Almighty used Deborah as the Prophet and the Judge of all of Israel, she taught men the Torah in the Old Covenant times...The New Covenant is established on better promises and that includes in what concerns WOMEN!

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Y’shua. Galatians 3:28

We all have the same Holy Spirit and she is no respecter of persons!
Spirit/Ruach in Hebrew is of feminine gender as in Genesis 1:2
Ruach Elohim Merachefet al pnei hamayim.
The Spirit of the Creator was floating/fluttering/dancing as a female over the waters (Merachefet is female! Male would be Merachef!)

Rabbi Baruch continues expounding on Ephesians 5:22 Part Two

Wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Ephesians 5:22

One of my favorite stories is the story of David and his men that though they were hunted as criminals still went about doing good. In a certain occasion David and his men were in the area of the Carmel in the North of Israel guarding the sheep of a certain local millionaire by the name of Nabal. Though they were hiding from King Saul; yet they were also guarding and protecting the possessions of that Nabal. David and his men were in need of food in order to survive. They asked Nabal for charity or even a “thanksgiving offering” when he was holding a feast for his servants. Nabal whom the word describes as “harsh and evil in his doings” refused to give them any food. David sent his men to Nabal who being of the family of Caleb, he also was part of the tribe of Judah just like David. In a sense they were somehow relatives.

And thus you shall say, 'Have a long life, peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have. 'Now I have heard that you have shearers; now your shepherds have been with us and we have not insulted them, nor have they missed anything all the days they were in Carmel.' Ask your young men and they will tell you. Therefore let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we have come on a festive day.

Please give whatever you find at hand to your servants and to your son David.'" 1 Samuel 25:6-8

However Nabal’s answer was harsh as his character and he totally refused to bless his blessors! Nabal in Hebrew means “wicked and evil” and indeed this man was living up to his name! When David’s boys took the message to him, David got “hot” and decided to kill Nabal and his family! However one of Nabal’s men, a wise servant ran to Nabal’s wife Abigail who was both beautiful and a wise discerning woman and warned her about the impending disaster that was about to befall her house!

But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, "Behold, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, and he scorned them. Yet the men were very good to us, and we were not insulted, nor did we miss anything as long as we went about with them, while we were in the fields. "They were a wall to us both by night and by day, all the time we were with them tending the sheep."Now therefore, know and consider what you should do, for evil is plotted against our master and against all his household; and he is such a worthless man that no one can speak to him." 1 Samuel 25:14-17

Abigail immediately responded with an emergency plan to rescue her whole family and her husband Nabal from a certain death. Disregarding Nabal’s decision to withhold blessing and goods from David, she saddled a donkey filed with food as a peace offering to make restitution for the destructive behavior of her husband. She was overturning the impending curse that the Torah promised to those who repay evil for good. David had been good to them and Nabal had repaid evil. Judgment was in place!

He who returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house. Proverbs 17:13

Abigail rushed to overturn Nabal’s evil decision, she certainly did not submit to her husband’s will in the matter, had she done that all of her family would have been killed!

Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread and two jugs of wine and five sheep already prepared and five measures of roasted grain and a hundred clusters of raisins and two hundred cakes of figs, and loaded them on donkeys. She said to her young men, "Go on before me; behold, I am coming after you." But she did not tell her husband Nabal. 1 Samuel 25:17,18

We know some wise women that their husbands are not saved and do not care about Yah’s Kingdom but are hostile to the faith just like Nabal who refused to give offerings to the Servants of God. Yet the wives come to fellowship and tithe even though their husbands do not know. Just like Abigail they are overturning the curse in their homes by putting God’s Kingdom and His ways FIRST!

And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 1 Corinthians 7:13,14

A believing wife is a true believer and can sanctify her husband only if she puts Yeshua FIRST in her life. This includes fellowshipping with the saints, giving tithes and offerings, walking in obedience to the Holy Spirit and in holiness. If the husband is willing to live with a wife in such terms, then the wife should not leave!

Many wives are denying Yeshua by trying to obey their husbands (both saved and unsaved!) above Elohim’s Commandments and that is idolatry!

Had Abigail obeyed Nabal implicitly she and all of her family would have died! YHVH would have not honoured such “blind submission”! Her disregard of her husband Nabal’s decree saved her house!

It came about as she was riding on her donkey and coming down by the hidden part of the mountain, that behold, David and his men were coming down toward her; so she met them. Now David had said, "Surely in vain I have guarded all that this man has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that belonged to him; and he has returned me evil for good."May God do so to the enemies of David, and more also, if by morning I leave as much as one male of any who belong to him." 1 Samuel 25:20-22

David was ready to kill them all and Abigail knew it!

When Abigail saw David, she hurried and dismounted from her donkey, and fell on her face before David and bowed herself to the ground. 1 Samuel 25:23

Abigail did not submit to her husband’s will in this situation but rather submitted and bowed down before David who was God’s Anointed! In other words she submitted to God FIRST! Moreover she took the blame on herself and interceded before David!

She fell at his feet and said, "On me alone, my lord, be the blame. And please let your maidservant speak to you, and listen to the words of your maidservant”. 1 Samuel 25:24

Abigail did not defend the sin of her husband, neither did she justify it! She called a “spade, a spade” for Yah is no respecter of persons and He does not expect wives to agree with and protect the sin of their husbands!

"Please do not let my lord pay attention to this worthless man, Nabal, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name and folly is with him; but I your maidservant did not see the young men of my lord whom you sent. "Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, since the LORD has restrained you from shedding blood, and from avenging yourself by your own hand, now then let your enemies and those who seek evil against my lord, be as Nabal. 1 Samuel 25:25,26

"Now let this gift which your maidservant has brought to my lord be given to the young men who accompany my lord. 1 Samuel 25:27

David’s response to this unprecedented act was forgiveness and reconciliation which overturned the judgment over Abigail’s house!

David said to Abigail, "Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me, and blessed be your discernment, and blessed be you, who have kept me this day from bloodshed and from avenging myself by my own hand. "Nevertheless, as YHVH the God of Israel lives, who has restrained me from harming you, unless you had come quickly to meet me, surely there would not have been left to Nabal until the morning light as much as one male." So David received from her hand what she had brought him and said to her, "Go up to your house in peace See, I have listened to you and granted your request." 1 Samuel 25:32-35

While Abigail managed to save her whole household from total annihilation, her husband Nabal was judged by God Himself. But in the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him so that he became as a stone. About ten days later, the LORD struck Nabal and he died.  1 Samuel 25: 37, 38

It took ten days before YHVH struck Nabal. Number 10 is usually a symbol of Yah’s justice and judgment as in the Ten Commandments, the Ten Plagues against Egypt and the Ten Days of Awe prior to Yom HaKippurim (The Day of Atonement).

Abigail’s reward was that she became a Queen. As David took her for wife! It is clear that Abigail had an excellent spirit and a humble heart. Her attitude was of utmost humility as she responded to David’s request.

When the servants of David came to Abigail at Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, "David has sent us to you to take you as his wife." She arose and bowed with her face to the ground and said, "Behold, your maidservant is a maid to wash the feet of my lord's servants." Then Abigail quickly arose, and rode on a donkey, with her five maidens who attended her; and she followed the messengers of David and became his wife. 1 Samuel 25: 40-42

A believing wife must act according to her conscience before YHVH above “blind submission” to her husband saved or unsaved!
