Special Hanukkah Edition

“Do not quench the Spirit,”1st Thessalonians 5:19 TLV

Shabbat Shalom and Happy Hanukkah, dearly beloved!

As we enter into this season of Holy Days and not so holy days, what we must decide is whether we are to walk in the anointing or religion? This particular question is all-encompassing, and it touches on every area of our life.

Not long ago, I was speaking to a very close team member and helper, and I told her, “Whatever you do, be anointed.” I am not interested in how much work you do but whether you do it in the anointing.

In that day, his burden will be taken off your shoulders and his yoke off your neck. Indeed, the yoke will be broken because of fatness (Shemen or anointing oil). Isaiah 10:27 TLV

Long ago when my husband and I were being called to bring about the MAP Revolution Movement, we made a decision for life: Whatever tradition that is anointed, that we shall do. But when a tradition is not anointed, we will stay clear of it.

You see, in every religious system, there are many traditions. In Judaism there are many traditions, in Christianity there are many traditions and the question is, “Are they all anointed?” And how can we know if they are?

When I look at traditions, I judge them by content and spirit.

Content: The content is determined if a particular tradition is rooted in either holy, Biblical principles, or in pagan, idolatrous practices.
Spirit: When one performs such traditions, what kind of spirit manifests? The Holy Spirit, religious, or demonic spirits?

Anointing or Religion

So, if we take Christmas for example and we have it pass the “test of content and spirit,” what will we find?

Content: Christmas is not in the Bible as a Holy Feast. The birth of the Jewish Messiah Yeshua is in the Holy Scriptures but He was not born in the winter or during the Winter Witchcraft solstice celebrations of Saturnalia. The 24th and 25th of December mark the Feast of Sun worship through evergreens, the worship of trees and mistletoe. The Holy Scriptures forbid such pagan traditions in numerous Scriptures.

Spirit: The “Spirit of Christmas” is understood to be the “spirit of giving,” so people give gifts to each other and help the poor. While that is commendable and wonderful, we must go deeper in understanding the “spirit of Christmas,” which is connected with pagan rites of sun worship, carousing, and drunkenness. Nowadays the famous “spirit of giving” has become a commercial gimmick to get people to spend as much money as possible and then spend the winter months in great debts.

If I had to sum it up, Christmas is a pagan feast with pagan traditions, including the decorating of trees to the point of worship and ungodly figures like Satan Clause—oops! I meant Santa Clause, of course—which is derived from the Nordic god Thor that scared the “bad children” with his “Ho, ho, ho.”

Believers in Messiah should renounce such pagan celebrations and go back to Holy Worship.

Thus says Adonai : “Do not learn the way of the nations or be frightened by signs of the heavens—though the nations are terrified by them. The customs of the peoples are useless: it is just a tree cut from the forest, the work of the hands of a craftsman with a chisel. They decorate it with silver and gold, and fasten it with hammer and nails so it won’t totter. Jeremiah 10:2-4 TLV

If you insist in celebrating the Birth of the Messiah, do this during the Holy Feast of Sukkot when He was most probably born.

Then all the survivors from all the nations that attacked Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Adonai -Tzva’ot , and to celebrate Sukkot. Zechariah 14:16 TLV

As to the “spirit of giving,” I encourage you to practice it all year round as led by the Holy Spirit. As it is more blessed to give than to receive. But if you insist, then enjoy Hanukkah the Festival of lights and miracles, the Feast of Dedication based on a historical victory of holiness versus paganism. Yeshua Himself celebrated it, so why not us? After all He is the Light of the World!

Then came Hanukkah; it was winter in Jerusalem. Yeshua was walking in the Temple around Solomon’s Colonnade. John 10:22-23 TLV

Anointing or Religion

Hanukkah’s symbols are Oil and Light commemorating the miracle of the consecrated oil that lasted eight days instead of one. The oil was holy oil, the Menorah was lit up and stayed lit up and idolatry together with pagan practices was ousted from the Beit Mikdash, the Holy Temple.

“Take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle, and everything within it, and consecrate it, along with all of its furnishings, and it will be holy. Exodus 40:9 TLV

We are the Temple of the Most High and Hanukkah represents the rededication of our lives through the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Happy Hannukah to all as we cleanse the Temple of the Holy Spirit, our lives and hearts and family traditions from all defilement. Let us be Anointed this season as He creates in us a Clean Heart and renews a Right Spirit.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalms 51:12 TLV

Let us choose Anointing instead of Religion, religious traditions, impurities and hypocrisies. Let there be Light!

Happy Hannukah to you all!

GRM prison

Support our Prison Ministry!

We have opened a prison ministry in the United States led by Rabbi Baruch Bierman, a GRM Bible school group in the UCI prison in Florida. Step by step, they are being led to the gospel made in Zion, and we have seen many miracles happening in their lives! When Rabbi Baruch is visiting them at the prison, he always returns with reports of healings and transformation of lives. Yah has opened us a mighty door!

We have launched GRM in a platform that makes it available for all the prisoners to study with their tablets. We invite you to support this important ministry through prayers and donations to enlarge this effort to introduce Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah to the prison system all over the USA!
