Feeding the Fire
Do not quench the spirit’s fire. 1 Thessalonians 5:19
Shabbat Shalom, dearly beloved!
Being a defined altar of YHVH has been my lifestyle and has set me apart from most other believers. It is not that I am standoffish, a snob, or do not want to mix with other believers; it’s simply because of the Glory inside of me. There is nothing I can do about this.
For example, Smith Wigglesworth walked as a defined altar, to the knowledge and extent that he knew at that time. (Revelation is progressive, and the path becomes brighter and brighter until the day it is fully seen. We keep having more revelations as we progress in our walk with Yah.) When Smith Wigglesworth would pray, many people would escape as the glory manifested, and most of them could not endure it. That set him apart from other preachers and other believers.
In the same way, I have been set apart since the time I was born again. Most people cannot live in the fire of God’s Glory. They cannot live in the Holy Fire because they have yet to become defined altars; they are still mixed altars that cannot stand the Holy Fire.
For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29 TLV
An altar takes fire; what came upon the altar was the fire. And notice that in the Beit Mikdash (the Holy Temple), the fire was not lit up by the priest. When the first temple was dedicated, the fire that came down on the altar was not of human origin. They worshipped, prepared the altar, and prepared the sacrifice on it—and then fire fell from heaven!
Now when Solomon finished praying, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of Adonai filled the House. The Kohanim could not even enter the House of Adonai because the glory of Adonai filled the House of Adonai. When all Bnei-Yisrael saw the fire come down and the glory of Adonai above the House, they bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground, prostrating themselves and praising Adonai, “For He is good and His mercy endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 TLV
The fire that the High Priest was assigned to keep alive was not human fire but the fire from heaven, and that is why it was a serious thing to let the fire die. When we are those dedicated altars, we cannot let the fire die. You have to feed the fire.
The same thing happened to the Jewish believers in the Messiah when they were praying on Shavuot (Pentecost). They had become defined altars, and the fire from heaven came upon them and filled them up with Yah’s glory or Kavod!
When the day of Shavuot came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And tongues like fire spreading out appeared to them and settled on each one of them. They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak in other tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out. Acts 2:1–4 TLV
The same thing happened to me in September of 1988, when the Holy Spirit and Fire fell upon me and immersed me. I was on my knees on a concrete floor in my tiny apartment in Jerusalem for 5 hours, praying in angelic, known, and unknown languages. I was weeping and being consumed by His Holy Fire. When I rose from the concrete floor, my knees did not hurt, and I was transformed into another person. I have never been the same since then! This has defined my life and ministry to this day. But I have to constantly feed the fire and not let it die.
How to feed the fire?
You feed the fire when you:
- Offer yourself to YHVH afresh every day.
- Walk by faith and not by sight.
- Meditate on the Word and worship YHVH.
- Declare and decree the Word on your lips.
- Obey what He tells you to do.
- Command your thoughts into alignment with His, and do not let your thoughts go astray.
- Love Him above all things and your neighbor as yourself.
- Give Him full access to your money, properties, and belongings.
But what kind of altar puts out the fire?
- Any disobedience or mixture of selfishness and self-centeredness causes the fire to go out.
- Any compromise with the world, self-righteousness, or religiosity causes the fire to diminish.
- Any bitterness and anger, including unresolved anger that is self-oriented, causes the fire to diminish.
- Unbelief and doubt cause the fire to wane. I am not talking about feeling doubt, but about giving into.
- Self-preservation will quench the fire.
- Exhaustion and not resting and replenishing periodically can seriously diminish the Holy Fire.
In the beginning of our Ministry, I was given one Scripture:
“Do not quench the Spirit’s Fire.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19 STB
In other words, keep the fire on the altar of your life burning! That is the foundation of our Ministry: to be an altar unto YHVH where the fire can burn bright and clear. Everything else follows on the basis of that foundation. That is the reason YHVH could download for me the revelation of the restoration of all things.
“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of YHVH, and that He may send Yeshua, the Messiah appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times.” Acts 3:19–21 STB
He has given me the revelation of the restoration of the Name of Yeshua, the Torah that needs to be written in the hearts of the believer, the Shabbat, His commandments, His Moadim (Festivals), Israel, the Bride of the Messiah, and the Sheep Nations.
This happened because I have chosen daily to remain at His Dedicated altar, where the fire keeps burning. There was nothing in me to stop Him from giving me the revelation. My life is not my own, and I have been willing to pay every price for this earth-shaking and costly revelation. I could have said NO to Him and lived a more comfortable and mediocre life, but for me, Yeshua is my life; I have no other life or options. That is a Defined Altar.
“The fire on the altar shall be kept burning. It shall not go out, but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and he shall lay out the burnt offering on it and offer up in smoke the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.” Leviticus 6:12 NASB
When you keep the fire burning bright and clear, your opinions will not bother you; you do not have any. Many times, when people ask me, “What’s your opinion on this or that?’ I say, “I do not have any opinion; I just want to know what He is saying about it.” It is not my opinion that is going to count, but His counsel—his word, His desire, and his will.
“The counsel of YHVH stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.” Psalms 33:11 STB
How Do You Become a Defined Altar?
When you make His will your will, you are a defined altar. Then He will come and download His revelations, because you will never come up with your own opinions or traditions or set your own boundaries to stop Him from telling you what He thinks. You just let Him through. And today He is asking us to let Him through once again. That means that something big is coming, and it requires altars of earth (the altars were built of earth). It requires earth and altars that will be filled with the Holy Fire that will burn bright and clear and will not die, so that He can be glorified.
“You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.” Exodus 20:24 NASB
But we have this treasure in earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:7 NASB
When we walk as defined altars, we walk as a portal between heaven and earth—an altar and a portal. So, wherever we go, we are that walking altar, but we are also a portal. For wherever we are, there will be an interaction between heaven and earth. We open those portals. Wherever we are, wherever we go!
I have concluded that YHVH had us move locations so many times because He wanted us to open portals between heaven and earth in every place where we would be sent and every place we would live, to give people an opportunity to encounter Him. Wherever and whenever the opportunity was not taken, He would move us to another place and then on to another place. One thing He will not violate is the self-will, the free will, of the individual. He gives opportunities, but where the opportunities are not taken, though they are being offered, He moves us to another place where maybe the opportunity will be seized with humility and faith. I have come to the conclusion that this is the reason why we moved so many times, like the Ark of the Covenant moved.
“At the command of YHVH they remained encamped, and at His command they journeyed; they kept the charge of YHVH, at the command of YHVH through Moses.” Numbers 9:23 STB
I have often said, “We have never stayed in one particular place for more than seven years.” And here we are in St. Augustine, Florida. In these eight years, we have moved three times. In Eilat on the Red Sea, we were there for seven years, but we did not stay those seven years in the same place but in three different locations.
“The cloud might stay over the Tent for two days, a month, or a year. As long as it stayed, the people camped, but when it lifted, they moved.” Number 9:22 AMPC
You may ask, “Why do you keep moving?” That way, we will not stay stagnant. But it is also because in every place where we are, there is a portal that is opened through prayer, worship, and sacrifice. Whenever there is an opportunity that is not taken, He has to move us on, even if it is not taken by our own families or children.
“Because I called and you refused, I stretched out My hand, and no one paid attention.” Proverbs 1:24
I am His Defined Altar and His possession; I do not belong to anyone. I belong to Him alone! If the opportunity to know YHVH-Yeshua is not taken, He moves me on and separates me, whether from my family or from other people. It does not matter because this altar belongs to Him alone; I am a defined altar where the fire can keep on burning.
This is what He is asking of us for the next leg of the journey: that every one of us become that defined altar. This revelation has taken us deeper and deeper into the knowledge of His Kavod-Glory during our recent Israel tours, demanding from us more serious obedience and discipline. He is looking for a house for His glory.
This is what YHVH says: “Heaven is My throne, and the earth is the footstool for My feet. Where, then, is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place where I may rest? Isaiah 66:1 STB
I pray that He will find you as His Defined Altar for His glory, where His Fire can REST!
