Torah Portion BO – Shemot (Exodus) 10:1-13:16
So Adonai said to Moses, “See, I have set you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet. Exodus 7:1
Shabbat shalom dearly beloved!
Are you sure that you are functioning within the Call, gifts and talents that the Creator gave you? He created every one of us with unique strengths that, when teamed up with others in the Body, can achieve much for His Kingdom. Do you know what those strengths are? And do you know to which Team you belong and are Divinely assigned to be a part?
But Moses said to Adonai, “Bnei-Yisrael have not listened to me. So how would Pharaoh listen to me—I, who have uncircumcised lips?” Exodus 6:30
Moshe could hear from Yah. His strength was Prophetic Guidance which is the Key for true and effective spiritual authority. However, he had uncircumcised lips which can mean unskilled, unrefined speech. He was not a good communicator, but he was a man of courage and action with a keen sense of justice. He killed the Egyptian because he was abusing a Hebrew — when he fled to Midian, he boldly chased the male shepherds that were bothering the female shepherds.
He was naturally strong, with a strong, authoritative character, was a protector and a deliverer of the underdog (the Hebrew slaves and the women) but he was not a communicator. Yah chose Moshe from his mother’s womb and created him with a keen sense of justice and endowed him with a Prophetic Gift.
Once Moshe understood that YHVH did not demand him to communicate to the governing authorities (Pharaoh) but only to his brother Aaron (who was a good communicator), he could ease into his Divine Calling for which he was created.
You are to speak all that I command you and Aaron your brother is to speak to Pharaoh, so that he will let Bnei-Yisrael go out of his land. Exodus 7:3
Aaron on the other hand was very personable, a good communicator but he was not a Prophet. He could do no miracles on his own. When he assisted his brother Moses, Aaron became a Miracle Man.
Adonai told Moses and Aaron, “When Pharaoh speaks to you saying, ‘Prove yourselves with a miracle,’ then you are to say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, so that it may become a serpent.’” Exodus 7:8 TLV
Can you imagine how disastrous it would have been if Aaron had decided to start his own Miracle Ministry without Moses, simply because he was used under Moses’ authority to display the Power of the Almighty? Many are doing this in presumption and are causing a real mess in the Body of Messiah. The strength of Aaron was not in running his own ministry and his own “solo show” to display miracles. His Yah-given strength was in ASSISTING his brother who was the Visionary and the Prophet.
Just because you have gifts of healings and miracles does not mean that you are supposed to run your own ministry but rather team up to assist the Divinely-Chosen Vessel, male or female, called to lead the people into freedom.
YHVH did not demand something that He did not put in there.
Moshe displayed fear at first because he assumed that the Almighty was demanding that he do something for which he was not equipped. He did not trust Yah’s Wisdom in His choosing — neither did he consider that our Abba never demands from us something we are not able to do IF we put our full trust in Him.
But to each one of us grace was given in keeping with the measure of Messiah’s gift. Ephesians 4:7
Embrace your call and team up with others
Divine Calls are personal to each one of us but then He begins to Team us up with other people’s strengths to bring about the Calling to fruition.
We need to discover our strength, the ones we were created with and embrace our strength.
Strengthen your strengths and stop focusing on your weakness. Concentrate on what you can do and not on what you can’t do. When we embrace the way He created us to be and spend our energy becoming better at it — and as we obey His Call, we will be happy and in Shalom.
If you are created to be a custodian, then be the best custodian the world has ever seen. Strengthen your gifts, talents and abilities, obeying Yah’s Call faithfully. If you are created to be a baker, be the best one you can be. Strengthen and sharpen your skill by praying for your bread and your bakery. If your talent is in home making and hosting, sharpen those skills of hospitality and use them for the Kingdom. If you are a painter, a graphic artist and are able to make things beautiful that give glory to Yah, keep on strengthening your skills until they shine. If your strength is in writing, use it for His glory. Whether your gift is in acting, in business or finances, in organizing or administering, in assisting or secretarial, sharpen your strengths — do not waste any time trying to be who you are not.
What about our weaknesses?
Sometimes we must function in our weakness because there are not enough laborers out there to fill the position. There are not enough laborers because people are so full of selfish ambition that they are trying to be what they are not created to be. They compete with others or they feel ashamed that they are not called to be the CEO or the manager or the Bishop or the President. But if all are called to be the Bishop or the President or Moses, who then will be Aaron? Who will be Joshua that assisted Moses? Who then will be the secretary, the administrator, the business director, the financier, the skilled computer worker?
We are all a Royal Priesthood but among the Priests and Levites there was the High Priest, the Cohanim that took care of the Holy Place only, then Levites that had various jobs. Some of the Levitical jobs where Teachers, Musicians, Gate Keepers, Temple Maintenance and Cleaning, Preparing the Offerings, Financial Managers and Book keepers. Everyone needed to be in their position for the Temple to be full of Glory and for YHVH to be pleased. A Gate Keeper was not an accountant and an accountant was not a musician. Maybe they could at times assist in other jobs but that was not the optimum — it may have been a band aid to stop a bleeding. Just like a weapon’s trainer in the army who may find himself/herself as the driver of a tank because of the urgent need and the seriousness of war if the tank driver is killed. There are times when we must stop the bleeding and function in “emergency mode” and do whatever it takes. But for everyday functioning we are best when we do what we are created to do and the whole world benefits from it. That is Yah’s (God’s) Divine Order.
Following the vision of another fulfills your calling
See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain. Exodus 25:40
Moses for example got the Vision on Mount Sinai for the building of the Tabernacle and all its utensils, but could he actually build it? Not at all — Moses was not a craftsman. For that purpose, YHVH joined another Team Member to Moses that was fully equipped to do the work according to Moses’ instructions. Bezalel was not assigned to get the instructions directly from YHVH, that was Moses’ position as the Leader and the Visionary. Bezalel was called to use His God given gifts and talents to fulfill Moses’ Vision and not his own.
Then Adonai spoke to Moses saying, “See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship. Exodus 31:1-3
This is where many are missing it in the Body of Messiah: not many are willing to lay down their lives to use their gifts and talents to fulfill the vision given to those who are assigned to be Apostles and Prophets. They mistakenly assume that the gifts are “their own” to do as they please and selfish ambition takes them over. This happens to many musicians, Media people, Omanim or artists and craftsmen and many other talented people. As long as they do not find the Moses they are supposed to serve, they are out of Divine Alignment and will run the race in vain.
Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur of the tribe of Judah made all that Adonai commanded Moses. Exodus 38:22 TLV
Has he called you by name to be a professional in some area of Ministry including crafts, art, graphics, media, business arena, administration, music, teaching and communication? Go ahead and surrender to His Call and Team up with your Moses (Male or Female Visionary Apostolic-Prophetic Leader). They know what the will of Yah is, as they have seen the pattern on their Mountain of Prayer. You just need to follow their instructions and use what you are created to do best to accomplish it. It may require financial faith and for you to be uncomfortable for a while, but how does this compare with Eternal Rewards and Accomplishments that change the world for His Glory?
“So Bezalel and Oholiab are to work, along with every wise-hearted man in whom Adonai has placed insight and understanding to know how to perform all the labor for the service of the Sanctuary, according to everything Adonai has commanded.” Exodus 36:1 TLV
It is never too late to surrender to Yah’s call
Have you heard when people in the latter part of their lives shift their professions to something exactly the opposite? How does this happen? Because they were not flowing within their Yah-given skills, talents and callings and they become weary of doing what they have no joy in doing.
Moses and Aaron surrendered to their Divine Call while in their 80’s! Do not ever give the excuse of your age for your disobedience or fear of surrender and change!
So Moses and Aaron did as Adonai commanded them. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh. Exodus 7:7,8
Most of us have more than one strength. Let us find out what they are, together with the Gifts of the Spirit that He gives us when we become full of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), and let us surrender today our strengths, talents and abilities to YHVH. Then He can use us in His Kingdom and for His Glory.
The reason why visions and missions are not succeeding is because those needed vessels that have the gifts and talents to supplement the Pastor or Bishop like Aaron to Moses (in whatever capacity is needed, if musicians, fundraisers, logistics, marketing or administration) are pursuing their own careers and their own future where they think their gifts and talents will be appreciated and remunerated. But are we to pursue “money making” above obedience? The condition in the Body of Messiah is such that pursuing our own lives and careers (including to lead ministries that have not been granted to us), our own financial wellbeing and our own fame and self- importance has taken precedence over seeking Yah and obeying His Call upon our lives.
while it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as when they provoked Me.” Hebrews 3:15
There is a Fresh Call coming from Heaven to surrender all that He created us to be to Him for His Use and Glory. As we do so His Body will be restored and many will come to the Kingdom in the same spirit of surrender.
Then Yeshua was saying to everyone, “If anyone wants to follow Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross every day, and follow Me. Luke 9:23
Moses had forgotten His Calling to bring justice. He was hiding and comfortable in the desert of Midian, happily married and a successful shepherd. Then one day YHVH showed up in the Burning Bush and rocked his world. He reminded Moshe what he was created to do. He was thrust into the unknown and the uncomfortable but fully equipped — with an able and strong body of a shepherd, a sharp Prophetic Hearing, full authority and a keen Gift of Justice as a defender and deliverer of the abused and enslaved Children of Israel. He was not required to be the Communicator, for he did not have those skills but only the Driving Force, the Guiding Light, the Mediator between Yah and His People. Aaron teamed up with him to speak and to perform. Bezalel and Oholiab teamed up with Moses as craftsmen and professionals. Miriam teamed up with him as a Prophetess and dance leader. Joshua teamed up with him as his Personal Assistant and Armor Bearer and many more joined also. Any time someone tried to “be Moses” (Miriam) they were hit by leprosy or swallowed by an earthquake (Korah). But when people functioned in their strengths and what they were created to be then they advanced steadfastly towards the Promised Land.
Trust in Adonai with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5,6
When you discover your strengths and surrender them to Your Creator, you may be thrust into the unknown and your world may be rocked also — but He will be with you all the way if you trust Him and lean on Him. Remember that He will never ask you to do something you are not created and equipped to do. People that use their gifts and talents for Yah’s Kingdom in obedience to His Calling are always the most fulfilled people on earth. They overcome setbacks much better and come out victorious over adverse circumstances, running a winning race all the way.
I invite you to make inventory of your life:
- Make an honest list of your natural strengths, gifts and talents
- Make an honest list of your spiritual gifts
- Describe what you do that makes you the most happy and joyful. What tasks make you feel Shalom, joyful, happy and accomplished?
- Take all the above 3 points and surrender ALL your gifts, talents, strengths, abilities, hobbies, spiritual gifts to the Creator — to be of service, worship and to bring Glory to Him. Allow Him full freedom to “rock your world” and give you a Divine Adjustment that will remove the pain and the frustration out of your life.
- Overcome your fears of the unknown and trust Him: He knows better what is good for you, how He created you to be and what is the best for His Kingdom.
- Embrace the “New You” that was created and imagined in the Creators Mind before the foundation of the world.
- If you are not “The Moses” of the hour (most people are not), then Team Up with the Moses YHVH has chosen you to help, be it male or female, and stay faithful all the way.
- Refrain from trying to be someone else. Become the best version of yourself for His Glory.
I praise You, for I am awesomely, wonderfully made! Wonderful are Your works—
and my soul knows that very well. Psalm 139:14

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6
Join Dr. Bierman as she shares that through faith the Jewish people returned to their land after 2000 years. Through this same faith the promises of God in our lives will also come to us if we continue to live this faith. Recounting the miraculous works of Yeshua helps us to uplift each other and increases our faith in what He has done in the past which grows our faith in our present. Pray, Praise and Remember are the keys to strengthening our faith so we can receive the promises He has made.

From Sickology to a Healthy Logic
This book is the product of 18 years walking through psychiatric hospitals catering to my loved ones. I have seen, prayed and visited with countless mentally sick patients. I have talked with many psychiatrists and psychologists. I have had to fight for the mental wellbeing of my own loved ones, including my mother, my brother, my children and some of my spiritual children and disciples.
