Justice or Judgment #3 – Vain Hatred

Torah Portion VAYISHLACH – Beresheet (Genesis) 32:3-36:43

In Preparation for Hanukkah, The Feast of Dedication

Justice, justice you must pursue, so that you may live and possess the land that Adonai your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 16:20 TLV

Shabbat Shalom, dearly beloveds!

This is a continuation from Justice or Judgment #2 where I expounded about the injustice of Lying Witnesses. Today we will continue the injustice of Vain Hatred.

What incurs the judgment of YHVH in both individuals and nations?
In one word it’s INJUSTICE.

INJUSTICE defined from the Merriam Webster Dictionary:

INJUSTICE, INJURY, WRONG, and GRIEVANCE mean “an act that inflicts undeserved hurt.”

  1. INJUSTICE applies to any act that involves unfairness to another or violation of one’s rights.
  2. The injustices suffered by the lower classes INJURY applies, in law, specifically to an injustice for which one may sue to obtain compensation.
  3. Libel constitutes a legal injury WRONG, and also applies in law to any act punishable according to the criminal code; it may apply more generally to any flagrant injustice.
  4. Determined to right society’s wrongs, GRIEVANCE applies to a circumstance or condition that constitutes an injustice to the sufferer and gives just ground for complaint.

We will review together in this series of Shabbat Letters the most grievous sins of injustice in the eyes of YHVH:

  2. LYING

Those who hate me without a cause outnumber the hairs of my head. Powerful are my enemies who would destroy me with lies. What I did not steal, must I restore? Psalm 69:5

Vain hatred is defined as hating someone without a cause – we could say it is “blind hatred”. Normally this kind of hatred is always attached to its “running mate” of lies or lying witnesses. When people hate someone without a cause there are always many fabrications of slanderous lies involved. So many lies and so grotesque they are that people believe them to be absolute truth. Hitler, the master of vain hatred, used so many fabricated lies against the Jews and had so many demonic caricatures made of the “stereotyped Jew” comparing Jews to vermin and mice that need to be exterminated. The German People and many in Europe believed it to be absolute truth. That is why most either cooperated with Hitler or did nothing to stop the mass murder.

The United Nations, in the same spirit as Hitler, has demonized Israel again and again with inexplicable vain hatred – yet Israel (being so small) always lends a helping hand to every nation that goes through disaster and tragedy. Recently Israel was one of the first ones to offer aid to Turkey even though President Erdogan has hated and slandered Israel without a cause. Israel has helped even the ones that are considered to be terribly cruel and butchers in her Northern border (that is Syria) and has treated her wounded at Israel’s expense in Israeli hospitals.

Many have become my enemies without cause; those who hate me without reason are numerous. Psalm 38:19 NIV

In the USA hatred without a cause has been raging against President Donald Trump. I will never forget when Rabbi and I were on board of a ship and a conversation started between us and a lady about American politics. The moment the name Donald Trump was mentioned that lady went into a fit of rage! Her face turned red, the veins in her neck bulged: it was utterly demonic! We were shocked, astounded by the magnitude of hatred towards this one man that she didn’t even personally know. This scenario repeated itself again and again in many other instances. Any time that the name Donald Trump was mentioned, seemingly perfectly normal people would break out into a fit of rage and passionate hatred, totally irrational and for no good reason.

Together with the outbursts of rage and vain hatred we also saw a fabrication of lies that had nothing to do with reality. This vain hatred was backed up by the antagonistic media who fed the ignorant with all this vain hatred, mixed with lying fabrications, that ignorant people swallowed and believe to be truth. When people have vain hatred, they are open to no reason. You cannot lead a civil conversation with them – they are intimidating, they lose control of their emotions. And it shows in their faces: the glare on the eyes, the vehemency, the irrationality, the violence in their speech and demeanor and their lack of self-control and ability to listen.

This is the work of evil spirits, demons. They are wicked and dangerous because people with vain hatred are never open to discussion or to reason – they are right in their own eyes and are accountable to no one except to the way they feel or see things. The Word describes this as demonic wisdom and it connects it with jealousy and selfish ambition.

Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct let him show his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, not hypocritical. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in shalom by those who make shalom. Yaakov 3:13-18 TLV

So, here is the full company of VAIN HATRED: Lies and fabrications, boasting, jealousy, selfish ambition.

In the case of the vain hatred against Israel, it is also connected with the ancient hatred of both Ishmael and Esau (Edom who is the grandfather of Amalek). They both hate the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Yaakov because of an ancient jealousy: the Covenant Promise, as mentioned in Genesis 12 and in many other places, proceeded through Isaac and Yaakov and not through Ishmael and Esau. Today all these Arab nations (which are the descendants of Ishmael and Esau) have carried within their blood the familiar spirits of this ancient jealousy and vain hatred.

The word of YHVH came to me saying: “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it. Say to it, thus says YHVH Elohim: ‘Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out My hand over you and make you utterly desolate. I will lay your cities waste. You will be devastated. So you will know that I am YHVH. “Because you have a long-standing hatred and have delivered Bnei-Yisrael to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of their final punishment, therefore, as I live’—it is a declaration of YHVH—‘I will destine you for blood, and bloodshed will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. Ezekiel 35:1-6 TLV

The VAIN HATRED of the nations against Israel will be seriously punished if there is no repentance!

Draw near, O nations, to hear, and listen, O peoples! Let the earth hear, and all it contains, the world, and all its offspring! For Adonai is enraged at all the nations, and furious at all their armies. He will utterly destroy them. He will give them over to slaughter. 8 For Adonai has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the hostility (vain hatred!) against Zion. Isaiah 34:1,2,8

Ultimately, what took Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah and Savior, to the Execution Stake (Cross) was VAIN HATRED. It was through Jews hired by the apostate high priest Caiaphas and the Roman centurion that tortured and executed him de facto – all hated Yeshua without a cause.

Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason. John 15:23-25 NIV

Vain hatred is sin and it needs repentance; it is also a demonic spirit and it needs deliverance. Even until today those that hate the Messiah are guilty of the sin of vain hatred and those who hate Israel are guilty of the same. And, whether you are of the right or the left of the political spectrum, vain hatred can cause a terrible destruction. In fact, in Israel there is a saying that goes as follows:

The (2nd) Temple was destroyed because of vain hatred.

Vain hatred opens the door to the enemy in a big way! I have experienced people hating me without a cause – because I am a woman in leadership, a female Archbishop, a Jewish Apostle-Prophet or because I am spirit filled and speak in tongues, I am blessed, or because I am simply a Jew, and it normally comes with slander, fabrication and lies. I have decided to pay no attention to it and to live in love and forgiveness, so I am not harmed by it. If someone has hated you without a cause, I admonish you to break the cycle of vain hatred and to forgive them and release them from your judgment.

Forgiveness is not justifying or sanctioning wickedness (such as jealousy, slander, false accusations and vain hatred), but it is rather the cure for our souls, so we are not harmed by it. We are created for love not for hatred. Love the people, hate their sin!

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 NIV

We must defeat this demonic principality if we want to enjoy His Presence and His Blessings.

In the Book of Malachi YHVH admonishes reconciliation between the generations, parents and children, in order to break the curse on the earth. Some of the greatest vain hatreds are between fathers and sons, parents and children.

See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of YHVH comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction. Malachi 4:5-6 NIV

After a whole year of COVID-19, of closures and quarantines, isn’t it time that we defeat this monster of vain hatred through our repentance? The following describes the attitudes that accompany vain hatred: YHVH HATES THESE!

There are six things YHVH hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, Proverbs 6:16-18 NIV

We all deserve to be hated by The Almighty because we have hated Him without a cause. We have broken His Commandments – we have accused Him of all the evil that happens in this world. But He chose to love us instead, though we were utterly unlovable. He hated and still hates our sin, but He decided to redeem us with His Love and Maximum Sacrifice.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. John 3:16-21 NIV

I invite you today to repent and renounce vain hatred, anti-Semitism, jealousy and selfish ambition – and then to surrender to His Love through His Son the Jewish Messiah Yeshua. Come and be accountable to live in the Light and in Truth so all darkness can flee in Yeshua’s name!

SHMITA YEAR 2021 / 5782

“But in the seventh year there is to be a Shabbat rest for the land—a Shabbat to ADONAI. You are not to sow your field or prune your vineyard.” Leviticus 25:4 TLV

According to scripture, the Jewish calendar moves in seven-year cycles from creation. The seventh year in the cycle is known as the sabbatical year or “Shmita.” The sabbatical year is one of rest, forgiveness, and reflection. In Israel farms must go uncultivated. Personal debts are forgiven, slaves go free and commitments to faith are renewed.
