And Yeshua said to them, “I was watching Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:18–19 TLV
Shabbat Shalom, dearly beloved!
We all have different spheres of jurisdiction. It is both wise and effective to know what our spheres of jurisdiction are. In fact, this knowledge will determine our lives and destiny. Yeshua said to His Jewish disciples that Satan fell from his place of authority in heaven due to rebellion, and He has given us authority over Satan and his works and over all his power. That is a very vast realm! Does that mean that I, you, or any individual alone have power over all the works of Satan? Of course not!
“For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” Now when Yeshua heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Amen, I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith!” Matthew 8:9–10 TLV
We have been given different spheres of jurisdiction where we exercise our authority under Yeshua, our Captain, and the leaders that He puts over us. If we obey Him and our leaders and fulfill our life assignment to the end, we will have dispossessed Satan in our God-given sphere of jurisdiction. If all of us obey the High Calling, the works of darkness on the earth would be destroyed in a jiffy, and the Light of the World would rule!
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armour of God so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, stand firm.” Ephesians 6:12–13 TLV
We are fighting against hierarchical dark forces; they have their order, and they know their spheres of authority within their dark order. We must know ours and exercise our authority in order and under our divinely appointed authorities.
The word JURISDICTION means Authority and Control.
Jurisdiction refers to the official power to make legal decisions and judgements and the extent of that power.
“Amen, I tell you, whatever you forbid on earth will have been forbidden in heaven, and what you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven.” Matthew 18:18 TLV
It is equally important to know which spheres are not under your jurisdiction. When the children of Israel passed through some land, YHVH warned them that He would not give it to them as He had given it to someone else. Israel was to have no jurisdiction there.
Command the people, saying, “You are about to cross into the territory of your relatives, the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir. They will be afraid of you, so be very careful. Do not provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land—not even a footprint—because I have given the hill country of Seir to Esau as a possession. You are to buy food from them for money so that you may eat, and you are also to buy water from them for money so that you may drink.” Deuteronomy 2:4-6 TLV
Adonai said to me, ‘Do not harass Moab or engage them in battle. For I will not give you any of his land for a possession because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.” Deuteronomy 2:9 TLV
“When you come opposite the sons of Ammon, do not harass or provoke them—for I will not give you any of the land of the sons of Ammon for a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot for a possession.” Deuteronomy 2:19 TLV
We engage in battle when we know it is within our Sphere of Jurisdiction!
“Rise up, journey on, and cross over the Wadi Arnon. See, I have handed over Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land—begin to possess it! Enter him in battle!” Deuteronomy 2:24 TLV
Joshua sent messengers to Sihon to speak peace and request permission to pass through their land and even to buy food for money. But they refused to let them pass.
“But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him because Adonai your God stiffened his spirit and hardened his heart in order to hand him over to you this very day.” Deuteronomy 2:30 TLV
This land was a land of giants on the east bank of the Jordan River, and YHVH had determined in advance that Israel would have jurisdiction, control, governance, and authority on the east bank of the Jordan, let alone on the west bank of the Jordan.
When Israel understands the jurisdiction given to her by her Elohim and implements governance there, even if it is an outcome of war, it will go well with her. It is imperative to understand that the boundaries of nations according to ethnic and genealogical families are given by the God of the Universe, not to mention the land He calls “My Land” and the people He calls “My People.”
“When Elyon gave nations their heritage, when He separated the sons of man, He set boundaries for the people by the number of Bnei-Yisrael.” Deuteronomy 32:8 TLV
“But Adonai’s portion is His people—Jacob is the share of His inheritance.” Deuteronomy 32:9 TLV
And His People come with His land:
“On that day Adonai cut a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘I give this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River.'” Genesis 15:18 TLV
Neither the UN, the EU, nor the USA can determine the extent of the jurisdiction and the borders of Israel. This has been predetermined by a legal and historical document called the Bible. No other legal document can overthrow or supersede what is written there.
“There is no wisdom, there is no understanding, there is no counsel—against YHVH.” Proverbs 21:30 STB
Knowing and implementing your spheres of jurisdiction will determine everything in your life. It will teach you to exercise authority where you need to and to submit to authority or honor the spheres of others where you have no jurisdiction.
Let me give you an example:
I am the founder, president, and overseer of two ministries: Kad-Esh MAP Ministries and the United Nations for Israel. Yah gave me the name, the vision, the anointing, and the authority over these two ministries. I am responsible for implementing my jurisdiction and authority over both and for seeing that they fulfill their Yah-given mandate.
Should someone taller than I (I am rather short), with more connections than myself, with more money, and even more talents, try to take over from me, he or she would be usurping my God-given jurisdiction. If I allowed them, this would be devastating for the missions that the God of the Universe gave me. It would be detrimental and destructive for many people and even nations. This is chaos, anarchy, and ultimately, dictatorship. Divine order comes when the right people know and function within their spheres of jurisdiction. Only within this order do we have authority over Satan and his works within our Sphere of Jurisdiction.
Just as YHVH said to Joshua, He also says to me in my sphere of jurisdiction and to you in yours, “No one will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you or forsake you. Chazak! Be strong! You will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers to give them.” Joshua 1:5–6 TLV
In the same way, I have regional leaders under me that I have appointed, and they have their own spheres of jurisdiction to implement the mission and vision Yah has given me. Should they decide to implement another vision or mission, they would forfeit their authority; chaos and anarchy would set in, ultimately leading to dictatorship.
Moses set up leaders under him to help him with the task at hand. Notice that he specified their spheres of jurisdiction clearly: leaders of thousands, hundreds, the fifties, etc.
“How can I bear your load, burden, and bickering by myself? Choose for yourselves wise and discerning men, well known to your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads. So I took the heads of your tribes, men who were wise and well known, and appointed them as heads over you—leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officials for your tribes.” Deuteronomy 1:12-13, 15 TLV
Do a quick check on your life and ministry. Are you functioning within your sphere of jurisdiction? If you have underage children under your roof, who is ruling over you or them? If you are in a position of authority, do you covet the job or ministry of others that do not belong to you? Or do you let yourself be run over by bullies undermining your authority?
And when you offer salvation, healing, or deliverance and it is not accepted, do you forcefully impose your faith, opinion, and will? Or do you realize that every adult human has free self-will, which is their sphere of jurisdiction that you cannot violate unless they violate yours and cause harm to others? (That is why police, prisons, and mental hospitals exist.)
“For rulers cause no fear for good behavior, but for bad. Now if you do not want to fear the authority, do what is good, and you will get his approval—for he is God’s servant to you for your good. But if you do evil, be afraid—for he does not carry the sword for no reason; for he is God’s servant, an avenger who inflicts punishment on the evildoer.” Romans 13:3–4 TLV
Yeshua had no jurisdiction to perform miracles unless people honored and believed in Him. In Nazareth, He could do no miracles against the will of the people who took Him familiarly and were skeptical.
“And they took offence at Him. But Yeshua said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.’ And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:57–58 TLV
And if you are a believer in the Messiah, have you recognized who your leaders and spiritual authorities are? Only under authority do we have authority, and we can function in our spheres of jurisdiction. True submission to authority is a heart issue within your personal sphere of jurisdiction. You need to oversee your own heart and mind. Taking our thoughts captive to the Messiah and walking in obedience is within our personal sphere of jurisdiction.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but powerful through God for the tearing down of strongholds. We are tearing down false arguments and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah—ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 TLV
Your body’s well-being is under your personal jurisdiction: to nourish it with the right food, to give it the proper rest and exercise, to wash it, to groom it, to use it for Yah’s will, and to keep it holy. And yes, to command it to align and to heal. Most people have handed over their jurisdiction to Satan, addictions, lust, immorality, and others in the modern-day dictatorship of the medical arena and medicine. But your body is your responsibility, no one else’s! Your earth is under your dominion!
“God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the land; and conquer it. Rule over the fish of the sea, the flying creatures of the sky, and over every animal that crawls on the land.'” Genesis 1:28 TLV
I urge you, therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy and acceptable to God—which is your spiritual service. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good, acceptable, and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 TLV
As we walk in Yah’s Divine Order and function within our Spheres of Jurisdiction, faithfully fulfilling our Divine Assignment under Yeshua and our appointed leaders, taking dominion over our thoughts and bodies, we will implement His Jurisdiction on planet earth. Then Light will overtake darkness within our Sphere of Jurisdiction. This, in turn, will affect other spheres beyond ours, just like when we throw a pebble into a body of water and it keeps making waves and having a ripple effect.
“He has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subjected to Him.” 1 Peter 3:22 TLV
