ATG – Addicts Turning To God, #13
When a country is in rebellion, it has many rulers, but a man of discernment and knowledge maintains order. Proverbs 28:2
Shabbat Shalom, Beloved!
It is time for the 13th part of a special series of Shabbat Letters based on my book ATG – Addicts Turning to God. These insights that the Lord gave me on treating addicts can save you from much frustration and can change the lives of many addicts as they turn to God.
Exposure to the Anointing
It is highly important to expose your ATG to the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the glory of God. I suggest that you take them to an anointed, Spirit-filled congregation that allows the Holy Spirit full liberty and that preach the uncompromised word of God and a repentance message. Take your ATG to as many services as possible. But please supervise them and train them to stay away from too much physical touch with others. Handshakes are OK. Teach them to be very respectful of others and very open to what the Holy Spirit is doing. Do not allow for intimate personal relationships to be formed with people in the congregation, especially in the first year of rehabilitation. It is good for them to ‘mingle,’ but as a group and not be ‘intimate’ with anyone. After the first year, hopefully, the Demonic Soul Tentacles are not as strong; and the ATG should know God much better. However, let them submit every relationship to the care of the pastor and you.
Be filled with the Spirit!
Both the ATG and you have to connect with the Holy Spirit constantly. Please make sure that you spend time in His presence. Praying in tongues will help you to be constantly filled, as well as spending time in the Word, worship, and constant devotions. Private devotions are very important. Teach the ATG to seek God for everything and to ask Him for more of His Spirit always. (Luke 11:11-14)
Brokenness & Intercession
Sometimes nothing seems to work, and the ATG is driving you “nuts.” Anger is rising within you. The ATG seems to be backsliding. He takes one step forward and two backward! You feel desperate, helpless, and hopeless. Let this lead you to brokenness before God and to intercession. Pray your heart out until you regain your peace. One such addict who kept coming home drugged made me come to such a place. I rebuked the devil in her and cursed every demonic root. I grabbed her strongly, and she fell on the floor, twisting like a serpent. Then she completely collapsed, and I collapsed on top of her – crying and crying out to God until I was spent. Then I turned around and rested. The power of addiction had broken off of her. And though she used alcohol and drugs once long afterward to manipulate me (she was angry with me), she never went back to it. I made it very clear that, if she did it again to manipulate me, she would have to leave my house, I meant every word!
Praise and Prayer Watches
It is very recommended that you and your staff do, periodically, entire nights of praise and prayer. You will see chains breaking much faster that way, especially when you see that you have hit an iceberg and the ship seems to be sinking. Humble yourself before God and pray and praise together. If you have the workforce, it would be great to set these praise and prayer watches for 24 hours a day. The results would be nothing short of miraculous!
In any case, have your CD playing praise music 24 hours a day, non-stop, every day!
Release your ATG to God Periodically!
Release your ATG periodically and get cleansed from any of the effects of the Demonic Soul Tentacles. You must let other people pray for you and cut off any emotional soul ties with your ATGs at least once a week, if not more. You must receive spiritual maintenance, deliverance, and prayer from others while you are caring for ATG. In this way, submit yourself to your pastor and his/her leadership team. Also, pray with your team at the rehabilitation center where you work or with family members, if you are caring for an ATG in your home.
Take a Vacation!
Every once in a while, go on holiday. You can go to a prayer and fasting retreat or combine it with some fun, outdoor activities, and plenty of rest. Your spirit, soul, and body need to be treated periodically, both through natural and spiritual means for you to go on.
As I am writing this manual, I am in the mountains of Cyprus, in a gorgeous little town, on a prayer and fasting retreat. It will also include some fun activities and some healthy, tasty eating. It has taken me FIVE days of constant prayer and fasting for me to unburden myself and enjoy the Lord again truly. I suggest that you periodically take time out to unburden yourself, to empty your vessel, and to get filled with the New Wine of God’s love and joy. It is only His love and joy that can motivate you and keep you strong when you are weak, as you lay down your life for others. Psalm 34 verse 8 tells us, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that it is futile to do ‘works’ if we have no love. We are like a clanging cymbal. We have to keep our motivation pure when we care for others. Therefore, it is important to get refilled again and again with that holy love that moves mountains. It is not a luxury for you to take time alone to be with God and have times of a fun recreation. It is matter of life and death to your relationship with the Lord and to your ministry to others. The Lord will lead you to be creative as to how, when, and where to spend those times, but if you are:
1) Constantly angry and frustrated
2) Constantly anxious and burdened
3) Feel dead or empty inside with no joy and no love
4) Feel persistently depressed, defeated, and hopeless; it is time for a holy vacation!
You are very important. You are God’s vessel to bring life to others, so remember to care for your vessel as much as you care for others. “Love your neighbor as yourself,” is the second and greatest commandment. God loves you as much as He loves the ATG, and more so because you are an invaluable tool in His caring hands.

Book of the Week: ATG – Addicts Turning To God
The Biblical Way to Handle Addicts and Addictions
Watch: Family Covenant
Hear this anointed message about covenant and unholy alliances as part of the 2019 Bible School on Wheels tour in Israel. Archbishop Dominiquae Bierman expounds upon the Biblical definition of family and how the Feasts of YHVH are important family celebrations. It is believed that many who have allied with Allah are the family of Abraham, Jewish children who will soon eagerly respond to the true gospel made in Zion, the “eternal gospel” of Yeshua’s kingdom.
