Torah Portion MISHPATIM – Shemot (Exodus) 21:1-24:18
“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.” Malachi 4:4
Shabbat shalom dearly beloved!
Most of this Shabbat letter is Scriptures that will change your life! The KEY issue that determines our mental health is what we remember and what we forget. The Word has much to say about it! Below is the continuation from last week.
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20
Remember Yeshua and the New Covenant
“For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.” And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in REMEMBRANCE of Me.” Luke 22:18, 19
For I received from YHVH that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Yeshua on the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
YHVH’s Long Term Memory – He Remembers His Covenant Forever
He remembers His covenant forever, the Word that He has commanded for a thousand generations, the covenant that He made with Abraham, His sworn promise to Isaac, which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying “To you I will give the land of Canaan, as your portion for an inheritance.” Psalm 105:8-11
“Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.” Isaiah 49:15
YHVH’s Shortest Term Memory
“I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25
Behold, days are coming,” declares YHVH, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares YHVH “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares YHVH, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know YHVH,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares YHVH, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will REMEMBER no more.” Jeremiah 31:31-34
YHVH Remembers His Covenants
But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided. Genesis 8:1
Thus, it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived. Genesis 19:29
Then God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb. Genesis 30:22
So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Exodus 2:24
“Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.” Exodus 6:5
“Then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.” Leviticus 26:42
“But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am YHVH.” Leviticus 26:45
“When you go to war in your land against the adversary who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before YHVH your God, and be saved from your enemies” Numbers 10:9
Prayers for remembrance:
Samson Asks Yah to Remember
[Samson Is Avenged] Then Samson called to YHVH and said, “O YHVH God, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time, O God, that I may at once be avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. Judges 16:28
Hannah Prays for Yah to Remember
She made a vow and said, “O YHVH of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to YHVH all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.” 1 Samuel 1:11
[Samuel Is Born to Hannah] Then they arose early in the morning and worshiped before YHVH, and returned again to their house in Ramah. And Elkanah had relations with Hannah his wife, and YHVH remembered her. 1 Samuel 1:19
Hezekiah Prays for Yah to Remember
Then he turned his face to the wall and prayed to YHVH, saying, “Remember now, O YHVH, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a whole heart and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of YHVH came to him, saying, “Return and say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says YHVH, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of YHVH. 2 Kings 20:2-5
Praying for Yah to remember is the same as praying for mercy. He does not remember the backsliders — unless they humble their hearts and plead for mercy by asking Yah to remember them.
”When I say to the righteous he will surely live, and he so trusts in his righteousness that he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but in that same iniquity of his which he has committed he will die.” Ezekiel 33:13
YHVH Remembers Those Who Fear Him
Then those who feared YHVH spoke to one another, and YHVH gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear YHVH and who esteem His name. Malachi 3:16
May we all remember these promises from Holy Scriptures — and enjoy a healthy mind!
Remember those who have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God. Follow their faith, considering the outcome of their manner of living. Hebrews 13:7

Book of the Week:
From Sickology to a Healthy Logic
This book is the product of 18 years walking through psychiatric hospitals catering to my loved ones. I have seen, prayed and visited with countless mentally sick patients. I have talked with many psychiatrists and psychologists. I have had to fight for the mental wellbeing of my own loved ones, including my mother, my brother, my children and some of my spiritual children and disciples.
