Torah Portion YITRO – Shemot (Exodus) 18:1–20:23 Haftarah Isaiah 6:1–7:6, 9:5–6
“I know your deeds. Behold, I have set before you an open door that no one is able to shut—because you have little power, but you have kept My word and have not denied My name.” The Revelation 3:8 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved!
One of the most important chapters of the New Covenant writings is John 17. That was the last prayer of Yeshua for His disciples before He was betrayed, arrested, and crucified. I would call it His Last Will. This chapter holds the Key to our wellbeing and the salvation of the world. It speaks about a Miracle UNITY between the Jewish disciples and the Gentiles who would come – a unity based on sanctification by the Truth, which is the Spirit of Truth revealing His Word (Torah) to us. The first thing Yeshua mentions in this important prayer is the Revelation of The Name.
“I have made Your name known to the (Jewish) men (and women) of this world that You gave Me. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.” John 17:6 TLV
In the same chapter, Yeshua prays to protect His followers from the world and its tribulations, to keep them and guard them in His Name – the Name that the Father gave Him. Please pay attention to the words. (Not the name humans gave him or transliterated but the name the Father gave Him). This protection in His Name, YESHUA, would be the Key to what seems to be a Miracle Unity.
“I am no longer in the world; but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name that You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are.” John 17:11 TLV
Furthermore, Yeshua tells us that the Key to walking in His Love is His Name! We cannot walk in unity without walking in His Love.
“I made your Name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:26 TLV
As you read these words, please understand that most Bible versions are not a direct translation from the original. When it was translated by St Jerome in the 4th century AD, the Church had already been divorced from the Messianic Jews, the Torah, the Holy Biblical Feasts, and the Jewishness and Name of the Messiah Yeshua. All these had been replaced by Greco-Roman Culture, Pagan Rooted Feasts, and Names. This is Replacement Theology, and it brought in another gospel.
Being a Hebrew name, the Holy Name of Yeshua became forbidden because it revealed the Jewishness of the Messiah. Yet, it is His original Hebrew Name that carries the Love of the Father to His Son and through the Son to us. The transliterated, pagan-rooted name of Jesus Christ does not carry the power of that Divine Love as it is not the name the Father gave His Son. That is the reason why so many murders of Jews happened in the name of Jesus Christ through Crusades, Inquisitions, Pogroms, Expulsions, and the Nazi Holocaust. This is also why there is so much cussing in the movies in this name. The Greco-pagan-rooted name does not carry the Divine Love of the Father.

This Replacement Theology became the church’s foundation and doctrine. This Replacement Theology became the fertile ground for Antisemitism, hatred, humiliation, persecution, slander, and murder of millions of Jews. The Powerful Name of Yeshua, one of the most important Keys for salvation, healing, deliverance, and unity, was lost for many generations. And in a sense, many have chosen to lose it today by taking His Holy Name lightly and dismissing or opposing its Restoration. But the restoration of all things is the Key to the return of Messiah, including the restoration of His Holy Name, Yeshua. Time is late, and He will no longer be delayed!
“Repent, therefore, and return—so your sins might be blotted out, so times of relief might come from the presence of YHVH and He might send Yeshua, the Messiah appointed for you. Heaven must receive Him, until the time of the restoration of all the things that God spoke about long ago through the mouth of His holy prophets.” Acts 3:19-21 STB
He has answered prayers in the Greek name because people were ignorant of His real name when satan, through a pagan-rooted religious system, overtook the Church. In His mercy, He met the people trapped in this draconic religious system of the 4th century and on. But now, He is preparing His Bride for His return to His People Israel and Jerusalem, and He is entreating and commanding His Body, His Bride, the One New Man comprised of Jews and Gentiles, to call Him
solely by His Covenant Name that Abba gave Him – YESHUA.
“Behold, you will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you shall call His name Yeshua.” Luke 1:31 TLV
“She will give birth to a son; and you shall call His name Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 TLV
Yeshua means Salvation, Jesus Christ does not mean that. It is not a translation of the name but a transliteration that removes the power of the meaning, and it is not the name His Heavenly Father named Him but rather of pagan origin.
The power of His True Name, YESHUA, is such that we will see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven, demons flee, principalities shake and fall down, and millions of souls saved. All because of the power of the name of YESHUA. To His Covenant name, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that He is the Lord!
“that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, in heaven and on the earth and under the earth,” Philippians 2:10 TLV
It is in His Holy Name, Yeshua, that we will become
one, and the world will believe – Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, LGBTQ, Muslims, Christians, and Jews will all bow down to the Name YESHUA, not Jesus Christ. These all call their gods by one name. Allah, the god of the Muslims, is the same in every language, and so is Buddha. Why would the most powerful name in the universe have to be changed or transliterated? Because satan is deathly afraid of the name of YESHUA. The dragon is sorely afraid of our
unity. And a major key for our unity is His Covenant Name YESHUA.
Who are we to oppose the choice of the Father in Heaven who called His Son Yeshua and not Jesus Christ? Opposing or making light of the restoration of His Holy Name is nothing but pride and rebellion. Many of His children need to repent of such pride. In some cases, it is also hidden Antisemitism. Paul warned about this.
“(Gentile believers) do not boast against the (Jewish believers) branches. But if you do boast, it is not you who support the root but the (Jewish) root supports you.” Romans 11:18 TLV
When I entreated Him about those who staunchly opposed the restoration of His Holy Name that His Father gave Him, He said to me:
My Bride will love My Name.
If you are part of His Bride, His One New Man, you will repent and return to His Holy Name, Yeshua. If you are not part of His Bride but rather a “staunch religious Christian” or a compromised believer, you will hate this message. This is a dividing line for the purpose of definition and the fulfillment of Yeshua’s Last Will Prayer that we may be One in His Name that Abba gave Him and One in the Spirit of Truth and His Word. The salvation of the world depends on it!
“I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them as You loved Me. John 17:23 TLV
Thank you, Yeshua, for making Your Name known to your Jewish disciples of the First Century and to us, Your Jewish disciples of the 21st Century, so we can make Your Holy Name known in all the world!
