Who or What is Your Kryptonite?

Who of what is your kryptonite
Torah Portion CHOL HAMO’ED SUKKOT – Shemot (Exodus) 33:12-34:26

Special Sukkot 5780 Edition

Adonai will fight for you, while you hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14 TLV

Shabbat shalom, beloved!

During my recent monthly retreat, I had a powerful revelation that set me free from guilt, pain, and grief and I want to share it with you.

But first, what is Kryptonite?

Something that presents a particular threat to one that is otherwise powerful.

Consider Kryptonite, which was a fictional radioactive mineral (the presence of which weakens the superhero Superman), appearing in Superman comics from 1949 onwards. Krypton, the home planet of Superman, is where Kryptonite was once found before being scattered in the universe by the planet’s destruction. This element was named by American comics writer Jerry Siegel (1914-1996), perhaps using the actual element krypton plus adding –ite to the end.

A True Kryptonite Story

I was grieving for my son and his condition and I felt so guilty that I could not “fix him.” I felt like a failure as a mother. My sorrow was so deep that I felt a desire to die. Yah had told me to “take my hands off” him. But I felt that by doing so I would be a betraying mother. I asked Abba to help me as I was drowning in sorrow.

As I waited before Him, He gave me the word Kryptonite and said the following to me,

“Your children (who are adults above age 30!) are to you like Kryptonite is to Superman. The moment you try to ‘fix them,’ and you bend over backward to rescue them, you lose your power, and you become helpless. This is the way that satan brings you down and tries to destroy your ministry.”

Wow! I knew this was absolute Truth! Every time that I stopped traveling to the nations or forfeited my mission (especially to the USA!), it was because of a very serious and traumatic event involving one of my kids. I would spend all my energy, time and money in trying to rescue them to no avail. They would not be any better for it. Breakthrough only came when I took my distance, released them to Yah, and continued with my Divinely Appointed Mission – while continuing to love them unconditionally.

Sometimes your Kryptonite is a person from your old life (your original “planet”). Sometimes it’s your family – sometimes old habits or addictions to a substance like alcohol or cigarettes.

Whatever it is, GET AWAY FROM YOUR KRYPTONITE! Distance yourself. When it’s our loved ones and family members, we may have to let go of them for a while or see them only for short visits. But we must have our “hands-off” from being entangled in their problems or from the frustration of “trying to fix them”.

If your Kryptonite is a substance you were addicted to (your old “planet”), run away from it and simply do not touch!

Who of what is your kryptonite

We all are susceptible to the Kryptonite from our “old planet,” our past life, worldly habits and ungodly soul ties with our loved ones that may not share our values and life vision.

You may usually be a Superman or Superwoman, but in order to keep your strength and power, you will need to avoid getting entangled with your “Kryptonite” and keep a safe distance. This is what Yeshua meant when He warned us of the following:

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—and yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:26 TLV

This was a warning that we all should heed. Of course, He does not mean we should not love our families. But He warned us of not letting any of our loved ones be our Kryptonite, neutralizing our ability to follow Yeshua wherever He may lead us.

In fact, Yeshua kept His distance from all the Kryptonite-like people in His life. He refused to be weakened by his mother, his brothers, or even Peter when he uttered a fleshly remark regarding the sacrifice of His life:

But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, satan! You are a stumbling block to Me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23 TLV

He then proceeded to clarify this even further:

Then Yeshua said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-‬25 TLV

Find out who operates like Kryptonite in your life and attempts to bring you down. Then learn to keep a healthy distance and remember: The only one who can fix us, is the same One who made us.

The only one who can fix your loved ones and every “Kryptonite challenge” we encounter is the Creator of the Universe and everything in it. If you have no anointing to “fix” the ones you love, and you find yourself powerless, exhausted, and depressed trying to “figure out” what to do, you may be “touching your Kryptonite.” Take your hands off the situation!

Resort to prayer and praise Yah for His intervention. He will do what He needs to do on His terms and in His timing. Meanwhile, do not look back and keep moving forward, doing His will until the end. When you least expect it and when you are busy about His business, breakthrough will come.

Behold, I am Adonai, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me?” Jeremiah 32:27 TLV

Happy Feast of Sukkot!

“You are to keep the Feast of Sukkot for seven days, after gathering in the produce from your threshing floor and winepress.” So you will rejoice in your feast—you, your son and daughter, slave and maid, Levite and outsider, orphan and widow within your gates. Seven days you will feast to Adonai your God in the place He chooses, because Adonai your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hand, and you will be completely filled with joy. Three times a year all your males are to appear before Adonai your God in the place He chooses—at the Feast of Matzot, the Feast of Shavuot, and the Feast of Sukkot. No one should appear before Adonai empty-handed— the gift of each man’s hand according to the blessing Adonai your God has given you.

Watch: Mikveh of the Bride

It’s time to move from a Greek Christ to a Jewish Messiah – hear Archbishop Dominiquae Bierman explain how it is then possible to bring down the Kingdom to earth, to have His glory fill the temples (each of us) as we are built upon a proper foundation. We exchange religion for His Kingdom, to achieve true unity, grafted into the olive tree of Israel. Experience a baptism (mikveh) in PNG which follows this powerful message.
