Torah Portion TAZRIA-METZORA – Vayikra (Leviticus) 12:1-15:33 Haftarah: Isaiah 66:1-24
But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved.
The solutions to complex problems are normally so simple that they seem to be easily disregarded. The key for unity that brings about the blessing of fruitfulness in our lives is simply: Walk in the light.
Apostle John expounds it some more; we must know Yeshua and how He walked, and then imitate Him.
“Now we know that we have come to know Him by this—if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God is truly made perfect. We know that we are in Him by this—whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:3-6 TLV

Yeshua walked in obedience to the Father’s commandments, not out of religiosity but out of a humble heart and the fear of Yah. If we know Him, we will walk in obedience to Yah’s commandments. The Ruach HaKodesh has been given to us to lead us to walk that way by writing His commandments in our hearts. Submission to the Holy Spirit is the key to walking in the light. The Ruach leads us into all truth.
“But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will tell you. And He will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13 TLV
One of the most important things the Ruach will convict us of is about attitudes, and especially our attitudes towards our brothers and sisters in Messiah. Are we critical of them? Do we truly love them and want the best Yah has for them?
“The one who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness. The one who loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.” 1 John 2:9-10 TLV

When we walk in the light of His Word, His Torah, the Ruach guides us into all truth. Then we choose love over hatred of our brethren, grace over the critical spirit. If we correct or exhort someone, are we doing it for their good or to feel good about ourselves? Attitudes and motivations are everything. Are we motivated by love or by pride and self-righteousness?
“But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has made his eyes blind.” 1 John 2:11 TLV
Even if our brethren in Messiah may not have the same scope of revelation we do or the same talents and anointing, do we still love them? Yah loves all of His children, but do we love all of Yah’s children?
And finally, what are our priorities? Is it how much money we have, what kind of car we drive, or what sort of university titles we carry? What do we put first in our lives? It’s easy to know because whatever is first gets all your attention or at least most of it.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away along with its desire, but the one who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17 TLV

Obedience is the key to walking in the light and having sweet fellowship with each other. That kind of unity causes others to believe that there is truly One Elohim. Are we doing Yah’s (God’s) will, or are we still trying to work out our own plan for our lives? Obedience is not convenience. Think about it, pray about it: Am I walking in the light? Do I love or hate other believers in Messiah? Have I surrendered to the Ruach HaKodesh? Have I reported for duty to do His will and not my plan?
Let us pray.
Abba, my Father, and the Father of my Savior and Master, Yeshua. To you I come to repent for any darkness in my walk. In the name of Yeshua, I choose to submit to The Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to write Your commandments and Your will for my life in my heart and mind. I lay down all wrong attitudes, critical and judgmental spirits, wrong priorities, and everything that prevents me from walking in the light. Hineni (here I am) reporting for duty to do your perfect will on the earth, in Yeshua’s name. Amen.
“If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who does what is right is born of Him.” 1 John 2:29 TLV
If we are truly born again, doing what is right in His eyes is our new nature, and it shows.

Testimonies from the students:
I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.
I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P
I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
