Torah Portion KORACH-CHUKAT – Bamidbar (Numbers) 16:1-22:1 Haftarah: 1 Samuel 11:14-12:22
“When they reached as far as the Valley of Eshcol, they cut a single branch with a cluster of grapes. It was carried on a pole between two of them. They also cut some pomegranates and some figs.” Numbers 13:23 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved.
The first tourists of the promised land were the 12 spies sent by Moses to survey the land. So they did and found out that it was exactly as Yah said: A blessed and fruitful land flowing with milk and honey.
“Adonai spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Send some men on your behalf to investigate the land of Canaan, which I am giving to Bnei-Yisrael. Each man you are to send will be a prince of the tribe of his fathers, a man from each tribe.” Numbers 13:1-2 TLV
However, they blew it upon their return with a huge bunch of gigantic and juicy grapes. They put more emphasis on the impediments and the giants than on the Promise of Yah.
“They gave their account to him and said, ‘We went into the land where you sent us. Indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey—this is some of its fruit. Except the people living in the land are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw the sons of Anak there!” Numbers 13:27-28 TLV
The only ones that had faith and eyes to see were Joshua and Caleb; Caleb interjected:
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, ‘We should definitely go up and capture the land, for we can certainly do it!” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We cannot attack these people, because they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:30-31 TLV
But the negative voices were louder, so these two valiant men tore their garments as a sign of mourning. They were mourning a lost opportunity and the death of a whole slave generation that would ensue.
“Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes. They said to the whole assembly of Bnei-Yisrael, “The land through which we passed is an exceptionally good land! If Adonai is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land and will give it to us—a land flowing with milk and honey.” Numbers 14:6-8 TLV
The media are trying to vilify Israel and isolate her, making everyone afraid to come to the Land. Here is what Caleb said about those giants!
“Only don’t rebel against Adonai, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They will be food for us. The protection over them is gone. Adonai is with us! Do not fear them.” Numbers 14:9 TLV
For 40 years, the people of Israel wandered in a small area but it was an endless desert; they were going around in circles and dropping dead. This is what unbelief does: it kills you, and it delays the promises of Yah from being fulfilled. All those 20 and up died in the desert except Joshua and Caleb. They were used to lead the desert generation into the second chance of possessing the Promised Land.
“Not one of you will enter the land about which I lifted My hand to make home for you—except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. “As for your children—whom you said would be like plunder—I will bring them in, and they will experience the land that you spurned.” Numbers 14:30-31 TLV
Now you, our reader, have the opportunity of being like Joshua and Caleb and join us in our upcoming Sukkot Tour from September 23 to October 5. We will rejoice in Jerusalem, pray all over the land, and leave a deposit of faith, holiness, and hope. Our presence will shift the atmosphere as we experience and communicate His unfailing love. You will be transformed, no doubt! And Israel will be so happy to see you!
Will you choose to be like the tourist spies that died because of unbelief? Will you be afraid of the war and rumors of war? Or will you choose to be like Joshua and Caleb and join us to bless Israel and be blessed in return?
Yah is calling a company of Joshua’s and Caleb’s to come with us to His land flowing with milk and honey, and all the giants will be history. Are you willing? Will you answer His Call?
If so, register TODAY and book your flights with El Al, Arkia, or Air Haifa from either the USA or Europe. Where there is a will, there is a way, but do not delay! Prophetic fulfillment is waiting.
“A Song of Ascents. Of David. I rejoiced when they said to me, “Let us go to the House of Adonai.” Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem—Jerusalem, built as a city joined together. There the tribes go up, the tribes of Adonai—as a testimony to Israel—to praise the Name of Adonai.” Psalms 122:1-4 TLV.
