Torah Portion MISHPATIM – Shemot (Exodus) 21:1-24:18 Haftarah: 2 Kings 12:1-17
“Am I now trying to win people’s approval, or God’s? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Messiah.” Galatians 1:10 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved,
Many years ago, while pastoring in South Tel Aviv, Israel, I received this instruction from our Abba:
It is better to be popular with GOD than to be popular with men.
I made a sign with these words and hanged it in my pastoral office for me to be reminded and for all to see.
This instruction has been a very important rudder in my ministry. It has been costly to follow it, but it would have been much more costly had I not followed Him.
They were strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in faith, and saying, “It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22 TLV
He called me as an Apostle Prophet, and being a woman, many ostracized me. I paid no attention to their sneering and evil thoughts and kept on obeying the Master, preaching and teaching, prophesying and releasing His Truth and Power. Many thousands have been saved and set free in more than 50 nations and are bearing fruit for eternity because of this. It has not been popular to be a woman in leadership, to be a bishop and archbishop. It’s been costly, but I chose to be popular with Him, and be known in the Third Heavens and among those who love Truth above their man-made doctrines and interpretations.
“He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 10:39 TLV
He began to reveal to me that He wanted the name His Father gave Him, Yeshua, restored. I was persecuted for that. However, He accompanied my preaching with signs, wonders, and miracles.
“These signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages; they will handle snakes; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.” Mark 16:17-18 TLV
He revealed to me that if the Church does not get rid of Replacement Theology in full, she will die.
The Prophecy of the Rose (given to my in 1990)
“The church is like a beautiful rose that has been cut off in the garden from its roots. It has survived for two days in a vase with water. But on the third day, it will die unless it is planted and connected back to its roots.”
He showed me that Israel will forever be His Chosen Nation, and that the Torah is not obsolete but must be written in our hearts by the Ruach HaKodesh.
“Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others the same shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-19 TLV
My Bible School, GRM, has been studied from the prison to the palace all over the world. My many books are being read by inmates as well as people in government, profoundly transforming lives.
“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit.” Matthew 7:18 TLV
When we choose to please Yeshua alone, we may obtain some enemies; however, we will also get very special friends, His friends!
“You are My friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:14 TLV
We also gain intimacy with Him who entrusts us with His secrets when He considers us His friend.
“I am no longer calling you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. Now I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 TLV
Most of us humans love to be popular and accepted by other humans. It makes us feel validated. This need for validation may lead many to compromise their walk with Yah, and even all the way to destruction when we compromise truth to please others, as it is a type of idolatry. This is such a serious issue that Yeshua explained it this way:
He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. Matthew 10:37
He wants us to walk in love with our families and all mankind, but not at the expense of truth and integrity – not if we betray Him and what He has revealed to us to be accepted socially. If we compromise in this, we will be grieving the Holy Spirit inside of us; we will have no shalom. Our conscience will bother us; guilt will overtake us.
“Loved ones, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God.” 1 John 3:21 TLV
Often, people feel guilty, and they do not know why, and often it is because of a man-pleasing attitude that offends the Holy Spirit. Having boldness and confidence before Yah helps us to obtain answered prayers.
“If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. In this, My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples.” John 15:7-8 TLV
The road we are to walk is narrow, and not many find it.
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow is the gate and difficult the way that leads to life, and those who find it are few?” Matthew 7:13-14 TLV
It is easier to be popular with men, but if you choose to be popular with Him, you will also rule and reign with Him.
“When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” 1 Peter 5:4 TLV
The promise to those who choose to please the King is an outstanding anointing of gladness and joy.
“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore, God, your God, anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions.” Psalms 45:8 TLV
In these turbulent end times with all its wars and rumors of war, His joy, His authority, and closeness with Him are everything. These are some of the rewards of those who choose to obey Him and to be popular with Him. May we be popular with Yeshua and worthy to hear these words.
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful with a little, so I’ll put you in charge of much. Enter into your master’s joy!” Matthew 25:23 TLV
