Biblical New Year - A Time of Hope

Torah Portion PEKUDEI – Shemot (Exodus) 38:21-40:38 Haftarah: Ezekiel 45:16-46:18

Now Adonai spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, “This month will mark the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year for you. Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month, each man is to take a lamb for his family—one lamb for the household.” Exodus 12:1-3 TLV

Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved,

After 430 years of exile and slavery, the redemption of Israel started on the first day of the first Biblical month, that is, Nisan. The exodus from Egypt starts with the lamb that will provide the Passover blood that will rescue the Israelites from the 10th plague—the death of the firstborn.

You must watch over it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it at twilight. They are to take the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the crossbeam of the houses where they will eat it.” Exodus 12:6-7 TLV

For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night and strike down every firstborn, both men and animals, and I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am Adonai. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. So there will be no plague among you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:12-13 TLV

Biblical New Year - A Time of Hope

The Biblical New Year was a time of hope as well after the Great Flood during Noah’s time. After 10 and a half months in the Ark full of animals tossing and turning on the turbulent waters of wrath, a gate of hope opened up. The waters had dried up, and the cover of the Ark could be removed to allow the human and animal survivors to see the sun and sky.

It was in his six-hundred-and-first year—in the first month, on the first day of the month—that the waters had dried up from the land. Then Noah removed the cover of the ark, and he looked, and behold, the surface of the ground had dried up.” Genesis 8:13 TLV

Though they only could come out of the Ark in the second month, a year to the date since the Great Flood started, it was on the first day of the first month that the first rays of sun and hope came in.

The Mishkan, where the Presence of YHVH dwelt in the desert among the Children of Israel, was erected on the first day of the first month. This started a new era for them as His covenant people.

On the first day of the first month, you will set up the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.” Exodus 40:2 TLV

Biblical New Year - A Time of Hope

The Judean King Hezekiah rededicated the Temple in Jerusalem after a period of much idolatry during the Biblical New Year.

They began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and by the eighth day of the month they reached the porch of Adonai. For eight days they consecrated the House of Adonai and finished on the sixteenth day of the first month. 2 Chronicles 29:17 TLV

This restored the Presence of Yah, favor, and holiness to Judah.

During the time of Ezekiel the Prophet, the House of Yah was purified and rededicated for seven days, starting with the first day of the first month.

Thus says Adonai Elohim: ‘In the first month, on the first day of the month, take a young bull without blemish and purify the Sanctuary. The Kohen will take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it upon the doorposts of the House and upon the four corners of the ledge of the altar and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.” Ezekiel 45:18-19 TLV

Biblical New Year - A Time of Hope

Indeed, the Biblical New Year is a time of hope, rededication, and new beginnings. May the God of this Biblical New Year bless His people, Israel, and you, our partners, disciples, and friends. May He open a door of hope wherever impossible circumstances have blocked the sun rays and the blue skies from our hostages, from all of Israel, and all of you lovers of Israel.

May this be a time of rededication of all our lives to become a pure place for His indwelling Presence and Holy Fire.

May this be a new beginning with new opportunities for the Blessing of Abraham to flow in your life.

I will bow down My knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt those who bow down their knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt You. And I will decree a curse of misfortune and total destruction to those who dishonor and disrespect you by taking you lightly. And in (unity) with you all, the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:3 STB

Biblical New Year - A Time of Hope

May your prayers, sacrifices, and financial offerings be acceptable before Him and bring you a plentiful harvest of righteousness.

Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him, and to love the Name of Adonai, and to be His servants—all who keep from profaning Shabbat and hold fast to My covenant—these I will bring to My holy mountain and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar. For My House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations.” Adonai Elohim, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, ‘I will gather still others to him, to those already gathered.” Isaiah 56:6-8 TLV

Study at GRM Israeli Bible Institute

You’ll never need to take another Bible School again. GRM Bible Institute is a washing machine that leads you to the 1st century truth. You will discover the original Gospel made in Zion that has set many free.

    Testimonies from the students:

I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.

I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P

I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
