A Watchman Word
Torah Portion KI TAVO – Devarim (Deuteronomy) 26:1-29:8 Haftarah: Isaiah 60:1-22
They taught throughout Judah, having with them a Torah scroll of Adonai. They went throughout all the towns of Judah and taught the people.” 2 Chronicles 17:9 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved,
Jehoshaphat was one of the best kings of Judah from the House of David. What made him so great was his honor for YHVH and the Torah. He launched a tremendous reeducation initiative all over the cities of Judah. He sent Levites to teach the Torah to the people. Can you imagine a king or a president in the 21st century doing something like this, spending government resources to actually educate the people in the ways of Yah?
“Then in the third year of his reign, he sent his officials—Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah—to teach in the towns of Judah. With them were the Levites Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, and with them Elishama and Jehoram the kohanim.” 2 Chronicles 17:7-8 TLV
Jehoshaphat had foresight and the Fear of Yah (God). He knew that if the entire nation would fear his God, then there would be peace and prosperity in the land, and he was not disappointed.
“They taught throughout Judah, having with them a Torah scroll of Adonai. They went throughout all the towns of Judah and taught the people. Now the fear of Adonai fell on all the kingdoms of the lands around Judah, so that they did not make war with Jehoshaphat.” 2 Chronicles 17:9-10 TLV
Notice that it was not the fear of Jehoshaphat’s military might that deterred Judah’s enemies. It was the fear of YHVH that deterred them and brought peace to all the borders of the Kingdom of Judah. When our enemies know that we know who we are as the People of the Book, of the Torah, they learn to fear our God, and then they fear us. The identity of the Jewish people in the God of Israel, their faith, fear, and trust in YHVH, is the key to their victory over their enemies.
“Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabs also brought him flocks—7,700 rams and 7,700 he-goats. So Jehoshaphat became more and more powerful. He built forts and storage cities in Judah and carried out extensive work in the cities of Judah. He had men of war, valiant warriors, in Jerusalem.” 2 Chronicles 17:11-13 TLV
You see, the enemies of Israel are also spiritual, and they fear their god Allah, but when Israel arises in the fear of YHVH, the game changes. Please notice how Hamas and all haters of Israel do not come in their name; they proclaim their god, Allah, is the greatest, and they do so constantly. They also constantly reeducate the Muslims through DAWA (the invitation) and reach out to the non-Muslims. They teach their people to be devout worshippers of Islam, and they are advancing rapidly and getting stronger because of that. They plan to have all of America under Islamic Shariah law by 2064.
“Indeed, those who plot evil go astray, but grace and truth come to those who plan good.” Proverbs 14:22 TLV
Jehoshaphat knew that the principle of reeducating the people in the Torah and the ways of the God of Israel would be the key to the success of his kingdom. So it is today: a massive Biblical reeducation is needed in Israel to restore her biblical identity and spiritual DNA.
“Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:4-7 TLV
In the same way, a massive Biblical reeducation initiative is needed all over the USA, Europe, and the world in order to restore the spiritual DNA of the nations. It starts with the fear of God; that is the beginning of wisdom.
“The fear of Adonai is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 TLV
Then it is highly important to educate our children from a young age, and also the adults, in the ways of the Torah and the whole Bible. Rabbis, preachers, and ministers should make it a point to invest in the education of the nations with the truth of the Torah and the New Covenant.
“Thus says Adonai: ‘Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the ancient paths—where the good way is—and walk in it. Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We won’t walk in it.’” Jeremiah 6:16 TLV
Then we would have shalom and blessing all around, for Yah’s word would be exalted, Yeshua’s name would be exalted, and His ways of righteousness and holiness would be exalted. The enemy knows this reeducation plan and has been using it in every way. We must release a Jehoshaphat-like reeducation initiative to our schools, high schools, and universities, through the internet and on Zoom, and flood the earth with the knowledge of YHVH.
“They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Adonai, as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11:9 TLV
We are already doing it through our GRI against antisemitism and GRM Bible School. Thousands of people from all nations, among them many inmates behind bars, are getting this education. It is not too late to start your journey. We invite you to come in and be equipped to educate others in the Gospel made in Zion, the Jewish Messiah, the ways of the God of Israel, His Torah, His People, His Feasts, the Power of His Ruach (Spirit), and the love of Israel.
“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there without having watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to sow and bread to eat, so My word will be that goes out from My mouth. It will not return to Me in vain, but will accomplish what I intend and will succeed in what I sent it for.” Isaiah 55:10-11 TLV
Education in our Biblical faith identity is the most powerful weapon against darkness.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in My name, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 STB
