Moving Forward with Compassion

Torah Portion VAYECHI – Beresheet (Genesis) 47:28-50:26 Haftarah: 1 Kings 2:1-12

Then Joseph hurried out because his compassion grew warm and tender toward his brother so that he wanted to cry. So he went into an inner room and wept there. Genesis 43:30

Shabbat Shalom, beloveds!

The compassion of Joseph became overwhelming as he saw his brother Benjamin after so many years of separation. His love was felt into the very bowels of his soul.

Much was shared on this subject of opening our bowels of compassion by Archbishop Dominiquae in our most recent weekly Zoom prayer gathering for Israel and America. It was just days after they had arrived back from the Taiwan Hanukkah Wonders mission in Taipei (and the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast held there). Her recent broken wrist has brought much pain and suffering, including recovery from the surgery, along with ongoing rehab to regain mobility. All of this has resulted in intermittent sleep patterns, which can bring additional distress. Yet she remained faithful to push through such arduous travel to complete this timely mission.

Her testimony and insights were most beneficial and encouraging, so we are sharing them here for everyone to consider as we all move forward, perhaps in adverse situations ourselves:

“We need to get the power of Yah back. He allows us to go through things in order for us to gain compassion. Yeshua Himself was moved by compassion—it is the force of the Father.”

Moving Forward with Compassion

This fallen world is the valley of tears. And sometimes we do not realize it is a valley of tears until we are in it because we have been guarded for so long from it. After moving through more than 50 nations in 35 years of apostolic ministry, we have ministered amongst countless sick and plagued people on all continents. Through all this, we have remained healthy by the grace of Yah. My life experiences have included much suffering by being in and out of mental hospitals because of family members, spanning 35-plus years; all this was an answer of Yah as a result of my asking for a gift of miracles for the mentally sick. He had me walk the halls of those institutions to get to know the people, to be among them, to gain compassion for those desperately needing healing.

Until COVID, Rabbi and I had not been touched physically, despite numerous perilous conditions and situations encountered over the years. When we returned from an apostolic mission to Mexico, we were struck with this hideous virus; his was less serious than my own. I fought it alone in my upper room for 1 week, fighting the lion and the bear for that Goliath.

Yet I was not alone: Pastor Cesar and many in his family & congregation were fighting it also in Mexico. This type of sickness would have sent most to the hospital, yet I know Yah had said, “This is the trial run for the mark of the Beast. Stay put and fight it through.” It was a terrible time where many who chose to go to the hospitals died. If I had not had the virus myself, I could not have effectively coached those in Mexico and others in their battles to victory. Praise Yah, we still have life!

Moving Forward with Compassion

Find the compassion to find the power to help others.

It is Yah that allows us to go through such trials so that we can be pioneers to help others find their way through their valley of tears. As a result, the COVID Manual that came from these experiences has helped save countless others from this and other illnesses.

This vantage point helps us in future missions, like the recent brutal travel experience into Taiwan; it builds endurance. For the joy set before Him, Yeshua endured the cross. He also learned obedience through suffering. It is all in scripture, yet we miss it when adverse life circumstances occur. You see, we are gaining compassion, which is a powerful kingdom force necessary for miracles to happen.

Definition of compassion: sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. (from the Latin compati—to suffer with)

Through this endurance, I learned that the God of Wonders, Pele Yoetz, the compassionate One, needs to be brought onto the scene. My main prayer in Israel, upon seeing my war-torn nation traumatized and wounded, was that I cried out for a healing revival, as the doctors can only do so much. We need the power, but I now see it is the power that only comes out of compassion.

To have this power, sometimes you need to suffer. It is like when Yeshua removed His divinity and came down to humanity as a suffering servant (even unto death) and was then able to move with such a compassionate heart to heal broken humanity. We will feel that heart as we go forward, and the demon-possessed will be set free, blind eyes will opened, and broken minds and hearts will be made whole for His glory.

Now Yeshua was going around all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:35-36 TLV

Moving Forward with Compassion

We must connect with His bowels of compassion, and sometimes our protective covering must be removed so that our perspective can become His perspective. Going through the airport recently in a wheelchair, the entire sea of humanity looked different. Through my own suffering, it was as though I could now clearly feel theirs. I was moved to inject light into the life of the airline employee pushing me, despite being personally exhausted after 20 hours of painful travel and adverse physical reactions to airline food. She wept as I spoke straight to her heart. My words were infused with compassion.

Through all of our challenges, know this: “Yah is able to turn garbage into gold.” He can turn all things for good to those who love Him. He is opening our bowels of compassion in order to see miracles, signs, and wonders displayed. People need hugs; people need comfort. People need to see, and we need to be the demonstration of the Spirit with power.

We must have compassion and act upon it in order to have the power. Remember that Moses still had to raise his right hand with the rod in order to part the sea. All the compassion to deliver the people needed to be put into action in order to see the miracle power of Yah.

If we pray for power, we will have to go through some things in order to gain compassion. We have had some power in the past, but for this next leg of our journey, we will need a deeper bowel of compassion opened—more than ever before.

But He is compassionate, forgives iniquity, and does not destroy. Yes, many times He restrains His anger and does not stir up all His wrath. For He remembered that they are but flesh, a passing breath that never returns.” Psalms 78:38-39 TLV

Moving Forward with Compassion

We are dealing with many nations that have now turned their backs on Israel in one way or another, causing much suffering to the people. As an apostle to the nations, I need these bowels of compassion to see through the betrayals to be able to extend the power of Yah into them. Through all this, I am able to see another America that I have never seen before: a nation that has suffered tremendously to colonize and settle this country. Suffering and causing suffering was a necessary part of taming this land, obtaining the American dream, which started out as a nightmare. Now we have a tremendous country full of people, descendants of people who suffered, who are in need of a healing revival. It can only happen when our bowels of compassion are opened, and then translate those bowels of compassion into the demonstration of the Spirit in power.

For we do not have a kohen gadol who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all the same ways—yet without sin. Therefore, let us draw near to the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16 TLV

Moving Forward with Compassion

Through this current suffering, we now have the vantage point of the handicapped—physically and mentally—even those drowning in medical bills (some are veterans) who have even become homeless as a result. For those here and in Israel and elsewhere, we now have the gift of compassion gained through the suffering of this ongoing trial in order to minister through His heart to see multitudes saved and set free.

May we be able to translate that compassion into a full demonstration of His power so that the goodness of Yah can be seen in Israel, in America, and throughout the world. It is a powerful gift given to us in the midst of this valley of tears, in this time of judgment, so that we may learn as Yeshua did and see His glory upon all of us.

We are being prepared to be the Bride along with Israel. We are grafted in. Let us arise in this season, full of fresh consecrated oil obtained from the time of Dedication (Hanukkah), so that we can ROAR together with Israel and see “the restoration of all things” necessary before His return (Acts 3:17-21). Yeshua, just like Joseph did, is revealing Himself to His brethren: let all Israel be saved!

    Testimonies from the students:

I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.

I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P

I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
