Torah Portion EKEV – Devarim (Deuteronomy) 7:12-11:25 Haftarah: Isaiah 49:14-51:3
“When I and all that are with me blow the shofar, then you also blow the shofarot all around the camp, and say, ‘For Adonai and for Gideon!’”” Judges 7:18 TLV
Shabbat shalom dearly beloved,
Prophetic obedience seems very foolish to the natural mind. However, it is those who have obeyed Yah’s “foolish” prophetic instructions that have determined the course of history.
There are many such stories in the Bible and in my own life as well. Take Gideon, the biblical judge, as an example.
“Then Adonai turned toward him and said, ‘Go in this might of yours and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?” Judges 6:14 TLV
The answer of Gideon:
“Then he said to Him, ‘Me, my Lord? With what would I deliver Israel? Look, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”” Judges 6:15 TLV
The answer of Yah to Gideon’s insecurity:
“But Adonai said to him, ‘Surely I will be with you, and you will strike down Midian as if it were one man.’” Judges 6:16 TLV
Then, on top of this, his war strategy seemed very foolish; instead of building up a huge army, he actually had to choose only 300 men who did not bow down on their knees to Baal. And they defeated the enemy not with swords but with SHOFARS.
- Gideon initially gathered an army of 32,000 men to fight the Midianites, who had a force of 135,000.
- God instructed Gideon to reduce his army, first by sending home those who were afraid, and then by observing how they drank water.
- Those who knelt to drink were sent home, while the 300 who lapped the water from their hands were chosen to fight.
- Gideon divided his 300 men into three companies, each armed with a shofar trumpet, a jar, and a torch.
- At night, they surrounded the Midianite camp, and at Gideon’s signal, they broke the jars, blew the shofar trumpets, and shouted, “A sword for Adonai and for Gideon!”
- The Midianites, in their confusion and fear, turned on each other, and many were killed. The survivors fled.
- Gideon’s victory, achieved with a small and seemingly vulnerable force, is seen as a demonstration of God’s power and a lesson in faith and trust.
In the eyes of the world, the strategies of Yah seem utterly foolish, but He chose these foolish things to confound the ones who think themselves wise.
A Shofar Marathon in All 50 States
Yet God chose the foolish things of the world so He might put to shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world so He might put to shame the strong.” 1 Corinthians 1:27 TLV
Now He has given me another seemingly foolish assignment: He has called me to blow the Shofar of Jubilee in all 50 states of the USA until July 4th of next year, 2026; this being the 5th Jubilee of America since its inception on July 4th of 1776.
“You are to make the fiftieth year holy and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It is to be a Jubilee to you, when each of you is to return to his own property and each of you is to return to his family.” Leviticus 25:10 TLV
He told ancient Israel to blow the shofar on the 50th year to proclaim freedom from bondage and return, which is repentance.
America is not Israel, but the Jubilee principle remains. I believe this is what the scripture means that Yeshua read in the synagogue in Nazareth, quoting from Isaiah 61:
“The Ruach Adonai is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of Adonai’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19 TLV
When He called me to blow the shofar in all 50 states of the USA, it was to release the year of YHVH’s favor for America to return to Him. To release Americans from the bondage to Replacement Theology, idolatry, the love of mammon, antisemitism, and immorality. This nation has been sold many times over to hostile factors that aim to destroy her.
But why me?
I believe Yah is releasing this favor because He heard the cries of a holy remnant in the nation. This holy remnant has chosen to stand with Israel. This, the Key of Abraham, has been placed in the open position by their support of Israel and their stand with the Jewish people.
I will bow down My knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt those who bow down their knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt You (Israel). And I will decree a curse of misfortune and total destruction to those who dishonor and disrespect you by taking you lightly. And in (unity) with you, all the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:3 STB
10 years ago, He sent us to America to stand for the life and soul of this nation that sheltered my Jewish people at the time of the Nazi Shoa (Holocaust) and allowed them to thrive. This year, I will release those shofar blows in every state of the 50 states to see His Ruach move to set the captives free from lies and deception. To see an awakening towards the Gospel made in Zion with original Jewish roots and foundations, and for a Ruth-like Church to arise in America towards Israel. My job is to obey the seemingly “foolish” strategy YHVH has given me.
“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I am giving to you, as I spoke to Moses.” Joshua 1:3 TLV
“Have I not commanded you? Chazak! Be strong! Do not be terrified or dismayed, for Adonai your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 TLV

This prophetic job He has given me comes on top of many important commitments I carry as the founder and president of two major organizations and involvement in other key ministries. My “plate” was full already! However, when Yah calls and it looks “foolish” and “impossible,” the only thing to do is YES, Adonai, HINENI!
“Then I heard the voice of Adonai saying, ‘Whom should I send, and who will go for Us?’” So I said, “Hineni. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 TLV
Would you be willing to believe with me, pray, and support the small and sacrificial task team that will accompany me to all 50 states?
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.’” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah may dwell in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 TLV
