An African Pastor asked on a recent tour in Israel:
Can we people of color claim descent from Jews or Israelites?
The lecturer tried to answer him the best way he could, that there have been many mixed marriages and shifts of populations. This caused blood to be mixed with blood. In that case, maybe some Black Africans carry some Jewish or Israelite blood from the ten scattered tribes.
“In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the Israelites to Assyria. He placed them in Halah and Habor, on the Gozan River, and in the towns of the Medes.” 2 Kings 17:6 TLV
The answer is simple. If you are seeking to claim that you, too, are a Jew or an Israelite, would Hitler recognize you as a Jew and send you to the ovens of Auschwitz, Treblinka, or Sobibor? If not, then you are not a Jew and cannot claim ancestry even if your blood is mixed. Ruth became part of the nation of Israel, though she was a Moabite, because of this.
“Ruth replied, “Do not plead with me to abandon you, to turn back from following you. For where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Adonai deal with me, and worse, if anything but death comes between me and you!” Ruth 1:16-17 TLV
Hitler would have definitely sent Ruth to the ovens. That is why she was worthy of being the grandmother of King David and, many generations later, of the Jewish Messiah Himself! And even in her case, she was called Ruth, the Moabite, to the end.
I wonder what the source of that unrest is in so many people of color? It is a subtle deception that leads all the way to the hatred stemming from the Black Hebrews movement. They hate the Jews and call them the synagogue of Satan. This is what they call Israel as well, stating, “We are the true Jews, not you”.
“Ephraim’s envy will end; those hostile to Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim.” Isaiah 11:13 TLV
This is Replacement Theology at its worst. Why not be who you are, an African who worships a Jewish Messiah, not an African who replaces the Jews and usurps their identity? This is rooted in the most vile of spirits, which is jealousy, and it can lead to superiority, black supremacy, and even murder.
“Ham’s sons were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.” Genesis 10:6 TLV
Black Africans descended from Ham. The Jewish people came from Shem. We were given a different land, region, and calling, even if there have been mixed marriages and mixed seed from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba from Ethiopia.
“So King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked for—besides what King Solomon gave her out of his royal bounty. Then she and her servants left and returned to her own land.” 1 Kings 10:13 TLV
It will take humility from the side of Africans to realize that Israel is forever the Chosen Nation and not Africa.
“Yes, I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, in order to be your God and your seed’s God after you.” Genesis 17:7 TLV
All nations are called to serve and bless Israel. The well-being of every African depends on that. Claiming Jewish identity is de facto usurping Israel’s place. This will bring the curse, not the blessing.
I will bow down My knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt those who bow down their knee to bless, favor, do good, and exalt You. And I will decree a curse of misfortune and total destruction to those who dishonor and disrespect you by taking you lightly. And in (unity) with you, all the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:3 STB
We can all meet and love each other through One Jew, in fact, the King of the Jews. There is no need to claim Jewish identity for that. Being a grafted-in Gentile is good enough, in fact, a great privilege to partake with the Jews. Dayeinu (it is enough).
