Torah Portion SHEMOT – Shemot (Exodus) 1:1-6:1 Haftarah: Isaiah 27:6 – 28:13, 29:22-23
Then Job answered YHVH and said, “Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You? I lay my hand on my mouth. Job 40:3, 4
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved!
The Book of Job is one of the most important books to understand in these End Times. This powerful recount contains a most effective KEY that can equip us to be faithful to the end and to receive the Crown of Life!
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10
Most people are deeply afraid of suffering, so they live their lives protecting themselves from it instead of yielding to it. We can see that Yeshua warned the believers of Smyrna of the coming suffering, mentioning the devil as the cause of the suffering. “The devil is about to cast some of you into prison…”
Submit, therefore, to God (faith and trust). Resist the devil (fear and unbelief, anger and bitterness), and he will flee from you. James 4:7

The Devil is to Blame?
In the case of Job, the devil is also to blame for the suffering! The Almighty had an interesting conversation with satan that led to the devastation (SHOA!) of Job’s life!
“YHVH said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Job 1:8
The answer of satan is, as usual, an accusing answer! His job description is “the accuser of the brethren” or “the adversary” in Hebrew: Hasatán.
Then Satan answered YHVH, “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. “But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” Job 1:9-11
Satan ¨threw a glove¨ to YHVH and invited Him to a duel or to a bet: “I bet You that Job will curse You if you remove Your hedge of protection! ’’
YHVH took on the challenge that satan threw Him without batting an eyelid, as if Job’s life or the suffering that would ensue from this “bet” meant nothing much to the Almighty. It actually feels like two superpowers, one Good and one Evil were playing with Job’s life as with a human puppet!

Have you ever felt like God was “playing with you” and actually enjoys seeing you suffer?
Then YHVH said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of YHVH. Job 1:12
We can only imagine the Almighty Judge of the Universe watching from His lofty, comfortable throne in Heaven as His servant and son Job is plagued by satan again and again. Did He weep when Job wept? Did it even hurt Him when His faithful servant lost his beloved, precious children (that were drunkards and loved pleasure rather than God! {Job 1:4, 5, 13, 1: 4,5,13,18,19})? After all, this was his most faithful servant at that time! Satan was beating up Yah’s friend, not an enemy!
There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God, and turning away from evil. Job 1:1
Job must have been OUTSTANDING in his generation for the Bible to have an entire book named Job! The Lord Himself spoke well of him!
For there is no one like him (Job!) on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil. Job 1:8b
We can truly understand if you choose to judge the wicked sinners that hate You and reject You! But to let satan “mess” with someone like Job, known by all as a righteous and good man? Where is Your Justice Elohim?

God is UNJUST?
A few years ago, I attended the funeral of my own sister, who died suddenly of a brain tumor at the age of 47. This was the third funeral of a family member that I had attended in six months that year! I almost attended the funeral of my own son that year as well, but Yah raised him from the dead on the operating table! All that in about six months on my Jubilee Year! Way to go, Lord! Is that the way You treat Your most faithful servants and friends? Truly, if You are my Friend I do not need any enemies!
We were all numb and pretty shocked at this sudden death. Many were weeping around Vivi’s open grave. Some gave spontaneous eulogies on behalf of my sister.
She did not share my faith in Yeshua but rather her own way of believing. She was regarded by many as a wonderful woman who fought for what she believed and for peace between Jews and Arabs. So many people loved her that in a few hours after her death, a big crowd gathered at the funeral, coming from long distances. She died around 4 AM and was buried about 5 PM that very day! The father of one of her best friends spoke beautiful things about my sister, and then he said, ‘We don’t understand why God would take such a wonderful person at such an early age. God is UNJUST!’
When he said that, there was a hush in the crowd as if most people present agreed with the fact that Elohim is UNJUST for doing such an evil thing and causing so much suffering to all those who remain behind. Especially her children and husband and all that loved her.
All of a sudden, the silence was broken by the Rabbi who was leading the funeral: “Elohim is ALWAYS JUST,” he said in a firm tone of voice. “I have to correct you so that all may be instructed that He knows what He does and why; there is no injustice in Him.” My other sister (a religious Jew herself) and I silently and painfully agreed with the Rabbi and “amened” his correction that was reluctantly received by all with no understanding. After all, what is “just” about the death of such a young, beautiful, loved woman?
How many times have we called Elohim UNJUST because we have had to go through much suffering? All of Israel has been calling Elohim UNJUST since the Shoah (Nazi Holocaust). Most people that have suffered in the world are angry with God and blame Him for all the suffering! Other people are “holier than thou,” and they judge those who blame God, saying, “It is not God; it is satan that did it!” But both in the Book of Job and in Revelation 2, we can see that Elohim/Yeshua allowed satan to hurt His people! In other words, satan could have done nothing without Yah’s permission!
Does that exempt the Nazis or satan from judgment? Does this mean that we are to yield to evil forces? Not at all! We are commanded to RESIST them, but only after we SUBMIT to God in it!

Submit, therefore, to God (faith and trust). Resist the devil (fear, bitterness, pride, disobedience, and unbelief), and he will flee from you. James 4:7
This adds a perspective that IF understood, will set you free to serve/believe/worship YHVH with abandonment regardless of the circumstances.
Here is a good piece of advice:
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor? James 4:17
- Don’t judge those that are suffering.
- When YOU suffer without knowing why, refrain from judging God!
For the righteous, God tries the hearts and minds. Psalms 7:9b
It took Job 39 chapters to discover that pride and self-righteousness are serious sins. And it took his “friends-comforters” the same amount of chapters to stop judging Job!

Study at GRM Israeli Bible Institute
You’ll never need to take another Bible School again. GRM Bible Institute is a washing machine that leads you to the 1st century truth. You will discover the original Gospel made in Zion that has set many free.
Testimonies from the students:
I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.
I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P
I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
