Torah Portion CHAYEI SARA– Genesis (Beresheet) 23:1-25:18 Haftarah: 1 Kings 1:1-31
“But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the poor of the land. He will strike the land with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.” Isaiah 11:4 TLV
Shabbat Shalom, dearly beloved,
In this day and age of wars and rumors of war, of dictators trying to take over nations, and of Islamic invasions, we need to learn to fight. Though I am not against the use of fire weapons when needed, and my husband says that I am “a mean shot,” I am not talking about this kind of fighting. I am talking about the tremendous power we have in our mouth and even in our breath. When Yeshua returns, the wicked will be afraid of His words and even of His breath!
He will strike the land with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.” Isaiah 11:4 TLV
So, what is in the mouth: Breath and Words. The way we use this most powerful resource will determine everything in our lives and the fate of nations. We are created in the image and likeness of Elohim, our Creator. He has given us His ability to breathe and to speak. In fact, the first thing He does after forming Adam with His own hands is breathing into his nostrils the breath of life.
“Then ADONAI Elohim formed the man out of the dust from the ground and He breathed into his nostrils a breath of life—so the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7 TLV

With that breath, Adam could become a talking, walking being. In fact, the Creator of the Universe created everything with the breath of His mouth through words. He spoke, and it was done!
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness! Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the sky, over the livestock, over the whole earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the land.”” Genesis 1:26 TLV
When people have a breathing problem, it impairs their speech. When our breath is whole, it is easy for us to speak. The question is, what are the words that our breath will carry? Are we going to cause “air pollution” with our words, or will we be “air purifiers”? Obviously, Yeshua will purify the air of this world by His own breath and words. He will remove the wicked with their wickedness. He will not need a firearm to do this. His glorious breath and words will do the job. There is fire in His mouth against all evil.
“In my distress I called on ADONAI and cried to my God for help. From His Temple He heard my voice, my cry, before Him came into His ears. Then the earth rocked and quaked. The foundations of mountains trembled. They reeled because He was angry. Smoke rose from His nostrils, and consuming fire from His mouth. Coals blazed from Him.” Psalms 18:7-9 TLV
What about you and me? Are we supposed to stop all wickedness with the breath of our mouth? Is our breath pure enough to do the job? Is our speech pure and glorious, or is it perverted? Do we have unbelief or faith in our tongues? Do we have blasphemies, or do we have praise? Do we sing polluted songs or songs of worship and virtue? Whatever is in our hearts will come through our mouth.
“You brood of vipers! How can you who are evil say anything good? For from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man from his good treasury brings forth good, and the evil man from his evil treasury brings forth evil. But I tell you that on the Day of Judgment, men will give account for every careless word they speak.” Matthew 12:34-36 TLV

We may think that we will be judged only according to our deeds. However, it is not only our deeds, but also our very words will be judged. Since the source of our words is our heart, our heart too will be judged. It is best if we ask Him to judge our hearts now and for His goodness to bring us to repentance.
“Also keep Your servant from willful sins. May they not have dominion over me. Then I will be blameless, free from great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, ADONAI, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalms 19:14-15 TLV
There is one simple way to keep our heart, breath, and words pure, powerful, and full of His glorious authority. It is to obey His instruction in His Word to praise Him with all of our breath.
“Let everything that has breath praise ADONAI. Halleluyah!” Psalms 150:6 TLV
The way to stay filled with His Ruach-Spirit, and Breath is to use our mouths to sing and to praise Him continuously.

“And do not get drunk on wine, for that is recklessness. Instead, be filled with the Ruach, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your heart to the Lord—always giving thanks for everything to God the Father, in the name of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” Ephesians 5:18-20 TLV
Through His Ruach-Spirit, He has given us the ability to praise Him both in the spirit (in tongues) and in the understanding. When we pray and praise in the Spirit, we get filled with His love; it purifies our breath.
“But you, loved ones, continue building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Ruach ha-Kodesh. Keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly waiting for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah that leads to eternal life.” Judah (Jude) 1:20-21 TLV
That is why infilling with the Ruach HaKodesh is so important: it takes over our breath, and we are able to pray and sing beyond our understanding, beyond our limitations. We are called to walk so filled with the Ruach that our breath and words can purify the air wherever we go! When Yeshua cursed a fig tree because He found no fruit in it, that tree died.
“Peter remembered and said to Yeshua, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree You cursed has shriveled up! “And Yeshua answered, saying to them, “Have faith in God! Amen, I tell you, if someone says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says is happening, so shall it be for him.” Mark 11:21-23 TLV
The key was faith. If we have the powerful force of faith working through love, our breath and words will have the power and authority to perform what men deem impossible.
“For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24 TLV

With our sanctified breath and words, we can bring heaven down to earth through prayer, praise, word proclaiming, and prophesying.
“Surely then Shaddai will be your delight, and you will lift up your face to God. You will petition Him, and He will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decree will be done, and light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:26-28 STB (paraphrased from the Hebrew)
When we use our breath and words to praise Him, our hearts will be cleansed, and then our breath and words will have the authority of Yeshua.
“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without having watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to sow and bread to eat, so My word will be that goes out from My mouth. It will not return to Me in vain but will accomplish what I intend and will succeed in what I sent it for.” Isaiah 55:10-11 TLV

Let us Pray
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalms 51:12 TLV)
“Do not cast me from Your presence—take not Your Ruach ha-Kodesh from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You.” (Psalms 51:13-15 TLV)
Abba, fill me with Your Ruach-Spirit that I may pray and sing to you without limitations both in the spirit and in the understanding of my mind and have Your authority and glorious power in my breath and lips. “What is it then? I will pray in my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing praises with my spirit, and I will also sing praises with my mind.” (1 Corinthians 14:15 TLV)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, ADONAI, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalms 19:15 TLV)
In Yeshua’s Mighty Name. Amen.

Testimonies from the students:
I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.
I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P
I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
