Torah Portion VAYISHLACH – Beresheet (Genesis) 32:4-36:43 Haftarah: Obadiah 1:1-21
“About the ninth hour, Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me?”” Matthew 27:46 TLV
Shabbat Shalom, dearly beloved!
When Yeshua was hanging on the Cross, he felt betrayed and forsaken. As if His Father, whom He trusted, had suddenly become his enemy. In spite of the terrible torture involved in this method of execution, the beatings and the mockery, the worst pain must have been to feel forsaken by YHVH.
Many of us who have been walking in obedience to Yah (God) for a long time have experienced, at least once, something similar. When, suddenly, an event happens in our lives that is very painful and unexplainable. It can be an injury, an accident, a fire, some tragedy, a violent assault, or unexpected family or marriage trouble. Even the loss of a job for no reason can trigger the feeling of “How did I sin? What did I do wrong? Why is my Heavenly Abba punishing me?”
The pain of the loss, the tragedy, the injury, and the trauma can be off the charts, but what makes it unbearable is the feeling that God forsook me. That He removed His Divine Covering. This can provoke a feeling of injustice and anger. “I have served you with all my heart, and this is how you repay me?”

Another reaction is guilt and self-incrimination: “If I had not done this or that, this terrible tragedy would not have happened.”
Often, after going through the phase of anger and guilt comes the phase of seeking and repentance: “Forgive me for this and that attitude, for this and that stray thought, or for some hidden pride or rebellion.” All these are normal phases, and if we keep on turning towards Him, we will land first in a sad mood, some form of grief, and depression. Eventually, it will shift into a trust mood when we lift up our hands in surrender and confess that we cannot truly figure it out. This is when this promise becomes our anchor:
“Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 TLV
As time goes by, we begin to realize that:
There is an enemy out there that seeks to destroy us—especially if we are on the front lines serving Yah. The devil will use any open door or weakness in our lives for legal access.
“The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I have come that they might have life and have it abundantly!” John 10:10 TLV
We all make mistakes and miss them unintentionally in many ways, even the best of us. And we need to learn to receive forgiveness and to forgive ourselves. In the book of Jacob (James), it says:
“For we all stumble in many ways.” — Jacob (James) 3:2, TLV

We are living in a fallen world, and we are not exempt from its sufferings. The only difference is that we have The One who suffered all and more, and He will help us through.
For we do not have a kohen gadol (high priest) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all the same ways—yet without sin.” — Hebrews 4:15, TLV
This is the verse that explains Yeshua’s ability to identify with our suffering, weakness, and human struggles, because He experienced them Himself.
Yeshua endured more than we can imagine when He chose to come to this world as a Jewish man to save us and lead us to the Father, to the God of Israel. Because of His humanity, He can have compassion on human suffering.
Could it be that our human suffering serves in the same way?

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our pains. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, struck by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities. The chastisement for our shalom was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5 TLV
When we suffer, we become more compassionate towards other sufferers. Then our prayers for them are carried on the Wings of Compassion, releasing the miracle power of God through us to others.
“As Yeshua came ashore, He saw a large crowd and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.” Matthew 14:14 TLV
That is when what the enemy meant for evil turns for our good. We learn to endure the cross of whatever setback we are experiencing in life, knowing that just around the corner, a great blessing will manifest. We may not know in the midst of the pain what it is. But one day you will look back and realize it.
“focusing on Yeshua, the initiator and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and He has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 TLV

The hardest thing to do in the midst of pain is to trust Yah and to thank Him and give Him glory. But it is that attitude that releases the most grace over your ordeal and is the best “painkiller.” Begin to thank Him for every little thing you have and every help you get, then the balm of healing will begin to flow.
“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Messiah Yeshua.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TLV
You may have to endure some more pain, but His grace will carry you through to Shalom and eventually to healing and restoration.
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah may dwell in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 TLV
And remember, this suffering shall pass, and a new season of joy shall come.
“After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace—who has called you into His eternal glory in Messiah—will Himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. All power to Him forever! Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11 TLV

A Prayer for the Sufferers
Dear ABBA, please release the revelation of this message and your full grace into the midst of the painful situations of all your children. Yeshua, may you move by compassion to heal us all. And please do not forget all your wounded soldiers and civilians in soul and body in Israel due to the wickedness of the enemy and the ongoing war. May Your compassion and divine healing reach them all. In Yeshua’s name. Amen.
“For I will restore health to you and will heal you of your wounds.” It is a declaration of Adonai. “For they called you an outcast: ‘Zion—no one cares about her.’” Jeremiah 30:17 TLV
But You care, oh yes, You care.

Study at GRM Israeli Bible Institute
You’ll never need to take another Bible School again. GRM Bible Institute is a washing machine that leads you to the 1st century truth. You will discover the original Gospel made in Zion that has set many free.
Testimonies from the students:
I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.
I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P
I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
