Festival Portion SHAVUOT – Shemot (Exodus) 19:1-20:23 Haftarah: Ezekiel 1:1-28
Now, when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, ‘Get up, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what’s become of him!” Exodus 32:1 TLV
Shabbat shalom, dearly beloved.
Waiting for Yah’s timing on things is sometimes a lost habit. Everything around us is so fast that our attention span is getting shorter and shorter. The problem is that when we get impatient, we may miss His will altogether and may go into idolatry, thinking that we are serving Him. This is what happened to the Ancient Israelites, they became impatient after 40 days of waiting for Moses to come down from the mountain. I think that nowadays people would not wait 40 minutes, let alone 40 days!
The impatience to wait for Yah’s timing caused most of Israel to revel in immorality and idolatry. They created a god for themselves and convinced themselves that this was the god who set them free from slavery.

“So all the people broke off the golden rings that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. He received them from their hand and made a molten calf, fashioned with a chiseling tool. Then they said, “This is your god, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.” Exodus 32:3-4 TLV
The rest of the story is not pretty. YHVH saw the horrible debauchery, and He sent Moses down. Not to bless but to judge.
“They rose up early the next morning, sacrificed burnt offerings, and brought fellowship offerings. The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to make merry. Then Adonai said to Moses, “Go down! For your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have become debased.” Exodus 32:6-7 TLV
YHVH was about to destroy the whole nation for this grievous sin, but Moses stood in the gap for his people.
“Now therefore, leave Me alone so My wrath may burn hot against them and so I may consume them—and make from you a great nation!” Then Moses sought Adonai his God and said, “Adonai, why should Your wrath burn hot against Your people, whom You have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?” Exodus 32:10-11 TLV

When Moses came down, he was furious and broke the tablets with the 10 Words written by the finger of Yah.
“Then it happened; as soon as Moses came near the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing, and his anger burned hot. So he threw the tablets out of his hands and smashed them at the foot of the mountain.” Exodus 32:19 TLV
A great slaughter happened that day, and 3000 died at the hands of their brethren.
“He said to them, ‘This is what Adonai, the God of Israel, says: “Every man put on his sword and go to and fro, from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay his brother, his friend, and his neighbor.”‘” So the sons of Levi did as Moses said, and that day from among the people there fell about 3,000 men.” Exodus 32:27-28 TLV
Quite a story! But the root cause of it all is impatience. You may not have regarded this issue as wicked, but it is wicked, and it causes an untold amount of trouble. The opposite of this is Wait on YHVH. Wait until He gives you the green light; wait until His promises come to pass. Wait for His timing. Waiting is not procrastination; it is TRUST.
“For you need perseverance so that, after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. For yet “in a very little while, the Coming One will come, and He will not delay.” Hebrews 10:36-37 TLV
Do not take matters into your own hands because of impatience and frustration. Stay your course and remain faithful to Him and to His Divine Call, no matter how long the wait is.
“But My righteous one shall live by emunah (faith and trust), and if he shrinks back, My soul takes no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10:38 TLV

Wait in faith and trust for the fulfillment of His word and promises. And when the time comes, run to obey His commands.
“But they who wait for Adonai will renew their strength. They will soar up with wings as eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 TLV
Something unprecedented happened in Jerusalem 2000 years ago when Yeshua told them to wait.
“Now, while staying with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for what the Father promised, which, He said, ‘you heard from Me. ‘ For John immersed with water, but you will be immersed in the Ruach ha-Kodesh not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5 TLV
The Ruach HaKodesh fell on all those who were obeying the command to wait.

“But you will receive power when the Ruach ha-Kodesh has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and through all Judah, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” After saying all this—while they were watching—He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.” Acts 1:8-9 TLV
The last words of Yeshua were “Wait in faith and you will receive awesome power. They waited in faith and prayer until the Feast of Shavuot (Feast of Weeks/Pentecost), and then it happened! They received the fulfillment of what Yeshua promised.
“When the day of Shavuot had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly, there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And tongues like fire, spreading out, appeared to them and settled on each one of them. They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak in other tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out.” Acts 2:1-4 TLV
Waiting in faithful prayer and obedience brings about unprecedented results!
He promises astounding blessings to those who wait for Him.
“For from days of old no one has heard, no ear perceived, no eye has seen God, except You, who acts on behalf of the one waiting for Him.” Isaiah 64:3 TLV

Study at GRM Israeli Bible Institute
You’ll never need to take another Bible School again. GRM Bible Institute is a washing machine that leads you to the 1st century truth. You will discover the original Gospel made in Zion that has set many free.
Testimonies from the students:
I was second in command for a nationwide gang, but with the help of YHVH and GRM Bible School, I have begun to denounce that, after 21 years of membership. The enemy has been attacking me because of it. He knows he is losing a warrior, but I fight a different war for a different Master now. – J.M.
I used to be confused and uncomfortable because I didn’t know what to believe. There are so many different doctrines, all going against each other and teaching different things. I now understand the Gospel better and know my faith’s roots. – E.P
I have been wrong all my life, but now I understand what God wants from me! – R.D.
